Arlington Cemetery ceremony and The changing of the guard is the most beautiful thing to witness! The guardians of our heroes our truly the best. 🫡✊🕊️💜🇺🇸🙏
James Madison described the powers of the federal government as “few and defined” and those reserved to the states as “numerous and indefinite.”
We’ve been dangerously drifting from that understanding since the 1930s.
The drift has been most evident in areas now most fraught with waste, fraud, and abuse.
If we honored the Constitution’s limits on federal power, there’d be very little waste, fraud, and abuse in our national government.
Share if you’d like to see a “constitutional reset,” in which any government function that’s not obviously and necessarily federal under the Constitution would be returned “to the states respectively, or to the people,” as the Tenth Amendment specifies.
@epaleezeldin “Do not answer a fool, according to (her) Folly, unless you also be like (her). Answer a fool as (her) Folly deserves, less (she) be wise in (her) own eyes.” Proverbs 26:4-5
I think Lee Zeldin was following this advice.
@PNWConservative So true; education from K through university in America today is more political indoctrination than actual education. College graduates are less informed and less educated than Jr. higher students were in the past.
I've been in tech in the PacNW since the early 90s, working for big companies, and many start ups.
There will never be the equivalent of one of these companies founded, or based in Washington. (founded, maybe. But they won't stay.)
If you're a newbie to the Seattle area, these companies are legends and it's time to get a clue on the history.
Under the new taxation, the founders of these companies would have never successfully grown and collectively hired hundreds of thousands:
Attachmate
WRQ
Microsoft
Amazon
Avalara
Concur (SAP)
McCaw Cellular (Now AT&T wireless)
Expedia
T-Mobile
Aldus (acquired by Adobe)
Immunex
ZymoGenetics
Real Networks
F5
REI
Eddie Bauer
Costco
Zillow
Starbucks
Expediters International
Alaska Airlines
Paccar
Airborne Express
UPS (yes, UPS was founded in Seattle)
Nordstrom
Eagle Hardware (acquired by Lowes)
Blue Origin
Why would a founder of any of these companies start the equivalent of any of these legends if they'd have to give up 10% to the state when they're still in an early stage?
And save me the sanctimonious "paying my fair share" virtue signaling. Grow up.
This is one of the most aggressive tax schemes in the country.
And our once vibrant economy will be relegated to satellite offices and incubator stage companies.
Nice work, Washington!
@jasonrantz@saveoursheriff The Demonstrators in Washington are drunk on unfettered power. There is no hindrance to them doing anything they want, not even the constitution.
@PNWConservative “Temptations to sin are sure to come, but woe to the one through whom they come! It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck and he were cast into the sea than that he should cause one of these little ones to sin.”
