Information has it that Nigerian military had to arrest the family members of the kidnappers to pressure the terrorists, some of them have been arrested while others were eliminated. The military couldn't engage them for long despite knowing their location until it was the perfect time.

PRESIDENT TINUBU EXPRESSES JOY OVER THE RESCUE OF ORIIRE ABDUCTED CHILDREN AND TEACHERS, COMMENDS SECURITY AGENCIES

President Bola Tinubu has expressed profound joy at the successful rescue of the children and teachers from Oriire community in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, by the security forces.

President Tinubu praised the heroic efforts of the security agencies, especially the military, the DSS and the police, for working round the clock in the last 56 days to secure the release of the abducted children and their teachers without any collateral damage and for arresting eight of the abductors and neutralising others.

President Tinubu regretted the anguish that the children and their teachers, as well as members of their families and the entire nation, have experienced since the sad occurrence.

For cooperating with the Federal Government in all rescue efforts, President Tinubu commended the Oyo State Government and charged it to ensure adequate security around schools across the state.

"I am profoundly happy that our security forces successfully rescued the abducted pupils and teachers from Orire, Ogbomoso in Oyo State today after a military, police and intelligence-driven operation that neutralised some of the terrorists that perpetrated the evil act and the arrest of eight of them.

"This successful military operation has ended the siege and standoff of over 50 days and has brought relief to the entire nation and the affected families in particular. On behalf of the country, I express my gratitude to the officers and men of our armed forces, the intelligence agencies and the police for the safe rescue of the children and their teachers.

"My government will get justice for these children and their teachers and for the family of Mr Oyedokun, who the terrorists gruesomely murdered.

"I must commend the government of Oyo State for working cooperatively with us in bringing this unfortunate incident to a successful end," the President said.

President Tinubu has also directed that the emergency agencies work with the Oyo State Government to provide all necessary medical and relief support to the children and the teachers.

Terrorists themselves released videos threatening to kill the abductees if lethal force was used against them.

And here's why ransom wasn't paid the kidnappers own four-point demand included the release of detained commanders, cash, vehicles, and more.

The Oyo State Government publicly rejected paying ransom from day one.

Instead, security forces reportedly cut off food supply to the forest camp where the terrorists were hiding, starving out their supply lines.

Associates who helped the gang from outside the camp were tracked and picked up, weakening the kidnappers' negotiating position from the inside.

The kingpin they demanded be released is still in custody

That is not what a ransom payment looks like.

KIDNAPPED STUDENTS AND TEACHERS IN OYO STATE RESCUED FOLLOWING, SURGICAL INTENSE AND WELL COORDINATED OPERATIONS IN OLD OYO NATIONAL PARK AND OTHER PARTS OF THE COUNTRY

1. Following an intelligence-led carefully planned and executed operations, on 10 July 2026, troops of the Nigerian Army, led by the General Officer Commanding 2 Division, Nigerian Army, Ibadan, *Major General CR Nnebeife*, in collaboration with special units from the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) specifically the National Counter Terrorism Center (NCTC),the Defence Headquarters with Special Forces elements from the Nigerian Army, Navy the Air Force and the Nigeria Police, the Department of State Services (DSS), National Intelligence Agency (NIA), the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and other security agencies as well as local vigilantes/hunters/Amotekuns, in a well coordinated operation rescued a total of 44 pupils and teachers kidnapped by terrorists from Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State on 15 May 2026.

2. The operations, which lasted for more than a month, focused on identifying the terrorists kingpins that masterminded the kidnapping, bursting and dismantling their networks and logistics links, including their informants and hideouts located within the Old Oyo National Park Forest, Oyo State.

3. As part of the operations, multiple arrests were made within Oyo State and in other locations across some States in the Country. These arrests completely disorganized the group, exerted overwhelming pressure on them and ultimately led the terrorist group to *unconditionally release* the pupils and teachers. Further operations are to be conducted.

4. It suffices to note that the operations were carefully planned and executed to avoid collateral damages and to equally ensure that the innocent children and teachers were safely rescued. However, there were some casualties on the part of the security forces.

5. The pupils and teachers are currently receiving medical attention in an undisclosed hospital and will be handed over to the Oyo State Government in due course so as to be reunited with their families.

6. The GOC 2 Division wish to on behalf of all the participating agencies most sincerely and respectfully thank and appreciate His Excellency, the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR for the Strategic Guidance, Support and for all the provisions that made the operations a huge success.

7. The GOC also wishes to once again thank the Governor of Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde and indeed the good people of the State for their continous support to security agencies especially during the trying period.

8. The GOC also appreciates the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, the Hon Minster of Defence, the Chief of Defence Staff, the Chief of Army Staff and other Service Chiefs, Inspector General of Police and the Directors General DSS and NIA as well as Heads of other Security Agencies for their support and for the opportunity to relate directly with all the security agencies to ensure a seamless coordination and execution of the operations.

9. We sincerely thank the various media houses and indeed the entire Nigeria populace for their support, understanding and for having faith in the security architecture of the Nation. We urge all to remain vigilant and continue to support all security agencies by providing timely and credible information that would assist in the ongoing efforts to safeguard lives and properties across Nigeria.

This is exactly the kind of shallow wisdom that comes from reading the Bible with a natural unrenewed mind.

When Scripture says we are made in the image and likeness of God it is not talking about the outer shell of the human body.

The image of God is far deeper and more profound than flesh and bone for God is Spirit. This is why animals though fearfully made are not said to bear Gods image.

Its also why the image was marred but not destroyed by the fall and why it is being renewed in every true believer thru Christ who is the image of the invisible God.

Jesus himself is the exact representation of Gods being (Heb 1:3). Only those born of the Spirit can begin to reflect that same spiritual image in holiness, truth, love and wisdom by the transforming power of the Holy Spirit.

Reading the Bible with a carnal mind always reduces heavenly realities to earthly categories. It proves the Scripture true for the natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God for they are foolishness to him (1 Cor 2:14).

True wisdom doesnt come from human reasoning or outward appearances….it comes from the fear of the Lord and a mind that is renewed by the power of the Holy Spirit thru Gods Word.

When I was driving Keke to make a living, I had a total mind shift.

For a fact, I was saving ₦10,000 on a daily basis. This ₦10,000 was savings not total profit.

Where was my route ? Agege to Abule Egba at ₦100 per passenger.

I planned myself so well that it never looked like I was working.

My elder brother, his family, my step mom. Nobody knew I had a keke that I drive.

It was then I got to understand that if you don't create what the poor can consume or if you don't render a service that the poor can afford then you may not be as rich as you can.

Take for instance, I don't think Dangote makes ₦300 profit on a ₦500 pack of Sugar. All he leverages on is the volume of packs of sugar he produces.

Yet, who are his regular customers? You, me, the poorer than us.

While I will not even go against or support the Guest lady on the Àkàrà, kulikuli and Àgbàdo comment, I'll joyfully remind you that it is on this Social Media that someone packaged "Akara crunchy" for us. I simply translated it to "Èèrùn àkàrà" (the remnants from akara)

A few months ago, I was with a friend in Idumota and we stopped to buy original Lagos street food.

It was some Igbo guys that sold us fried yam, akara and plantain, we bought up to ₦6000.

Little did I know that those guys were strategic enough to have up to 6 stands and all were filled with buyers. Possibly, these guys could be graduates too.

When we pick up a hustle like driving Keke, selling akara or ogi for survival, we often stay grounded there for just one reason ; THE PROFIT WILL MAKE YOU MORE MONEY THAN DOING A 9 TO 5.

I am not forcing any opinion on anybody but my reality came to a shock when I met a POS operator at Berger bus stop.

I said I want to withdraw ₦200k and he told me he will get a service charge of ₦5000.

Curiosity made me ask how much he makes on average in a day and he was kind to tell me that on a bad day he makes ₦30k.

Why all this ṣàlàyé?

Nigeria is a poor country, forget the luxury you see everywhere.

If you want to prove me wrong, ask yourself how many recently released ORIGINAL NIKE or ADIDAS shoes are in Nigeria.

You have to understand that you have to create the market for the poor to be rich.

Like my mother will tell me :

She will say, whenever you eventually go to China, if you really want to make money, produce anything that anyone can hawk in Lagos.
