i had the same take for Jurassic Park 1: “actually the science in here has failed us. for the life of me, i cant understand why the discourse appreciates phony dinosaurs eating real people. shame!”
When he was at Pitt, Cam was a student in my comp classroom. He was a genuinely nice guy and a thoughtful writer who worked really hard. (If I remember correctly, Pitt wanted him to play center ... am I misremembering that?) Stoked to have him on the squad!
Roy Williams: “Jokic is one of the most amazing players I’ve ever seen. I’ve been a little bit of a Nuggets fan anyway. ... Now with Cam there, I look forward to making a trip to Denver and seeing them play in-person.”

OKC Thunder remind me of the 1990s Dallas Cowboys. obnoxious and smug and people keep telling you you're supposed to enjoy the experience of watching them play. but you just can't.
@strawpacifist i taught a comp class last year and had them write by hand every day in one of those old timey composition notebooks. the number one feedback comment i received was how much this helped them with their mental health
after a full season in which the nuggets (mysteriously) couldn't barely grab a single board, it's satisfying to see them outrebound OKC by 20 boards, 63 to 43.
