Sweet Springs’ Joey Rapp finishes his high school career by placing sixth in Class 1 in the finals of the 200 today @ Jefferson City.
This concludes the 2025-26 athletic season for the school. With a lot of athletes back in each sport, it should be an exciting 2026-27 campaign
Sweet Springs senior Joey Rapp finishes seventh in the 200 meter race at the MSHSAA State Track and Field Championships in Jeff City with a time of 23.04.
He now qualifies for the finals tomorrow and will run at 3:00 pm.
AuBreanna Fuller runs a 1:03.56 at the MSHSAA State Track and Field meet in the 400, good enough for sixth in her heat and 13th overall. She finishes her season but will return the next three seasons with only being a freshman.
Sweet Springs Softball and Coach Brent Niemeyer end another tremendous season with a 7-4 Quarterfinals loss to Kingsville in Warrensburg today.
Lady Hounds finish 17-6 on the season and return seven starters for 2027.
Sweet Springs Baseball for the second consecutive year end their season with a heartbreaking one run loss. Hounds battle throughout and got tremendous pitching from Levi Himck and Bryer Fowler, along wit stout defense, but fall short to New Franklin, 2-1 at Smith-Cotton tonight
Sweet Springs Track and Field sees Freshman AuBreanna Fuller (400) and Senior Joey Rapp (200) qualify for the state track meet next Friday in Jefferson City.
Sweet Springs Baseball gets a first round district win over Glasgow tonight in Pilot Grove, 5-0. Drayton Hampton struck out 17 batters and gets on base twice from the plate to lead the Greyhounds. Hounds will now play New Franklin on Monday in the semi-finals.
Sweet Springs Softball wins the district title with an 8 inning, 5-4 win over Northwest. Lady Hounds improve to 17-5 on the season and will be in the Class 1 Quarterfinal game at Kingsville on Tuesday.
Also in the game junior Madison Arnold recorded her career 500th strikeout.
Sweet Springs Softball scores three runs in the bottom of the seventh and comes from behind to knock off Green Ridge in the district semi-final 3-2. Lady Hounds improve to 15-5 on the season and will play in the championship on Wednesday against either Lincoln or Northwest.
