Amazing video quality from nearly 55 years ago. Nov. 20, 1971. #CNE Stadium. The day the #Argos advanced to the #GreyCup. Drawing with #Hamilton, 17-17, but winning the two-game Eastern final points total, 40-25. #Toronto then infamously lost to #Calgary in the #CFL title game. 17 Sept 1862: The Union army, led by General George McClellan and his Army of the Potomac, defeats Confederate General Robert E. Lee's Army of Northern Virginia at the Battle of Antietam. The battle is also known as the Battle of Sharpsburg, especially in the South. It is the bloodiest battle in U.S. history resulting in 22,000 casualties. Though not a decisive battle, when news reached British Prime Minister Lord Palmerston it cooled his idea of mediating an end to the war. #History #OTD #ad https://t.co/B4aADpkepe
I suppose we're all lucky that Trump cares more about musical theater than defending the Union, or else it would be the Lincoln Memorial rather than the Kennedy Center that would now face demolition
With the currently available information this is what 1st Canadian Division (the Canadian unit destined to fight russia in Europe) will look like once the reorganization is done.
A proper warfighting division (unlike the schmozzle of 3rd UK Division).
That moment on the train when your headphones disconnect from your phone and, at full volume, @holland_tom going full Ian Paisley shakes the carriage out of it 📢
@brent_bellamy A hi-low mix of our first 30 F35s and 80 Gripens would work great for the short term. A future hi-low mix of GCAP & Gripen would work in the medium term.
Long term could be GCAP and Saab’s new Gripen-sized stealth CCA.

@Graham_Mark_E I agree that the anti Roman Catholic message is stupid. But the comfy, carefree lifeboat image does not reflect my understanding. If Emmanuel - God with us, is humiliated, tortured, and crucified, I am in no place to expect or demand a comfortable life.
Friedman was right, but this also just gets Marx and history wrong. The bourgeoisie are the capitalist class according to Marx. Marx correctly identifies the bourgeoisie as the revolutionary force destroying feudalism and pressing for the expansion of rights and the rule of law. He then says dumb stuff, but for the last 250 years the bourgeoisie, however defined, have been at the forefront of demanding suffrage, constitutional protections, property and other civil rights. If you're going to define the capitalist class in a non Marxist -- and inaccurate! -- sense as "the 1%" or "the oligarchs" that's a different story, but even so that story is not the cartoon implied here.
Periodic reminder that virtually every major elected official claims, or tries to claim, that they are an outsider, a rebel, a maverick taking on “the establishment.” The President, Vice President, and speaker of the House talk that way. So did Barack Obama. Ted Cruz. Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, AOC, Jim Jordan do it, when their party is in power and out. When they are committee chairs or ranking members etc. Even partisan media does it. Everyone wants to be “the resistance” to some nebulous establishment no one claims membership in.
You can’t run a stable, serious, government when the people in power refuse to accept responsibility for being in power. None of them are “outsiders” taking on “elites.” They are all insiders and elites blaming other elites for their collective failure to do their jobs.
-74% of all insulin used in America comes from Denmark.
-100% of all Ozempic used in America comes from Denmark
-15% of all shipping containers arriving in America come from a Danish company
All 3 are being discussed within Denmark to halt.
@ATRightMovies General John Buford at Gettysburg. Plus, saying in a booming baritone in Coors commercials, "the banquet beer". I don't know what that means but it sure sounds good.
Rawlinson's 4th Army, led by 5 Australian divisions and 4 Canadian (the Canadian divisions were bigger), spearheaded the German Army's first serious defeat in the Great War ... Ludendorff knew the war was lost at the end of 08 AUG 1918, everything after was excuses and blame-shifting.
