@PVAC_NG Health is Wealth, and no Nation should depend on importation for her medical supplies.
The proactive steps taken by the Federal Government in October 2023 to establish @PVAC_NG is yielding benefits already as more are expected
@PVAC_NG Health care is very important in Nigeria.๐ณ๐ฌ
This initiative is a game-changer for Nigeria's healthcare!
Focusing on local production, training, and funding is exactly what's needed to build a stronger, more self-sufficient medical sector.
@PVAC_NG Really impressive work by PVAC. Supporting local medicine production and developing healthcare professionals will go a long way in transforming healthcare delivery in Nigeria. ๐๐ณ๐ฌ
@PVAC_NG They are working to create a better environment for local production through policy changes, stronger regulation, and offering incentive to manufacturers #LocalManufacturing#Nigeria
PVAC is unlocking Nigeriaโs healthcare value chain
Nigeria's healthcare sector faces a high import dependency for medical supplies, an annual shortage of pharmacists, and institutional weaknesses.
In October 2023, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu established the Presidential Initiative for Unlocking the Healthcare Value Chain (@PVAC_NG), operating under the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, Nigeria (@Fmohnigeria), to address these issues.
PVAC is building Nigeria's healthcare value chain by:ย
๐ Supporting essential medicine production in Nigeria
๐ Developing the healthcare workforce through training programsย ย
๐ฐ Creating financial mechanisms for healthcare businesses (1/3)
PVAC's work, anchored in the SWAp Coordination Office (@SWApGov), is shifting Nigeria from reliance on imported medical products to a self-sufficient, manufacturing driven hub, ensuring every Nigerian can access essential medicines and strengthening our health security. (2/3)

@PVAC_NG is tackling Nigeria's high import dependency in healthcare by focusing on several key areas.
First, they're working to create a better environment for local production through policy changes, stronger regulations, and offering incentives to manufacturers.
Second, they're bringing together investors, development finance institutions, and companies to fund and build these local capabilities.
Third, they're running programs designed to show real results across the entire healthcare product supply chain.
Finally, they're teaming up with state governments to spread healthcare manufacturing and the necessary infrastructure beyond just the federal level.
