As you might’ve read, the railways might be undergoing a major revamp, and when and if that expansion begins, those with these technical qualifications will have the upper hand.

Back in my day, the railways offered the highest standards of apprenticeship training ,and most of those who qualified were taken on full-time,some went abroad .

Hint: electronic communications is a critical skill in any modern railway system. But don’t overlook boilermaking, fabrication or machining ,those are busy, respected trades keeping the railway stock moving.
