@SecVetAffairs @DeptVetAffairs And to get someone at Optum on either email or the phone to check on the status of your case is nearly impossible. Not to mention the ghastly attitude of the employees. All of this causes significant delays in getting care and great frustration.

@SecVetAffairs @DeptVetAffairs The data systems between the VA, Optum & community providers are not interoperable. Authorization requests often never make it into the Optum system requiring the patient to follow up after waiting the 30 days for them to process it. The Optum backlog is weeks behind reportedly.
