@PHChess Intuition is not a magical sixth sense that exists in a vacuum. It is the distilled result of years of deep reflection. Anyone who deprives classical chess of the time needed for calculation is, in the long run, depriving intuition of its nourishment.
@dgriffinchess@TarjeiJS@MarkTWIC@GMjtis Typical space problem for a Twitter-beginner ... What was meant critically came across positively. In the FIDE conversation he canceled the match - before the Ding-Nakamura game was played and without either of them (or anyone else) knowing about it. That's how it was meant.
@TarjeiJS@dgriffinchess@MarkTWIC@GMjtis Carlsen called off the match before the battle for second place was decided, right?
He was honest and did everything right from his point of view. In doing so, he - as the reigning champion - was heartily indifferent to the interests of all the other parties. No more, no less.
Carlsen's statement to defend his title only against Firouzja was arrogant and inappropriate, to postpone the decision until AFTER the Candidates would be the height of uncollegiality. Have streaming/Twitter really flattened any form of chess journalism? Also (almost) speechless.
