British actor Charles Dance has said, "Even if [the Gaza war] stopped tomorrow, there would not be peace in the Middle East until the Balfour Declaration is unpicked.”

Speaking to the Daily Telegraph, the Game of Thrones and The Imitation Game actor claimed that Britain had “f***ed up” the region by issuing the declaration in 1917, which supported the establishment of a Jewish homeland. Dance added that Britain should apologise for its role.
