Mr Banks, who couldn't afford ₦5,000 to buy foodstuffs in 2020, can now afford $5 million in 2026 to buy a Cybertruck.
The guy he begged for ₦5,000 that year, he now rewards him with ₦5 million in 2026.
This also takes me back to my friend, who came to my house in 2015 to borrow my Toyota Matrix 2005, so he could visit his then-fiancée's mother, in the suburbs of Ikorodu.
When he returned, my car was faulty, even though I had given it to him in good condition. I called mechanics and consulted almost every expert I could find, but nobody could fix it for three weeks. It wasn't until we employed the services of a car diagnostic engineer that we discovered it was a brain box problem.
Throughout this period, which lasted almost a month, he didn't call or ask what was wrong with the car he had borrowed. I paid for everything myself, and eventually got a new brainbox.
I was only pissed off because he didn't call to show any concern. I called and told him I wasn't happy about that. Even after I fixed it, a few months later, he still borrowed it for his introduction ceremony, and I didn't decline.
Today, he is one of the biggest clearing agents on Tin Can Island, Apapa. His business has earned him nothing less than five houses in the heart of Apapa. He also owns three warehouses in Egbeda, which he bought outrightly.
The last time he came visiting, during my first child's naming ceremony, he saw that I was using a 2009 Toyota Camry. He told me I was too big to be driving that kind of car and that he knew I wouldn't speak up even when I needed something.
The next day, he called, and asked to meet him in Magodo. He bought me a 2023 Toyota Camry, which my wife now drives.
After some time, I asked myself: What if I had listened to the people who advised me to stop lending him my car after he returned it faulty? Would he have thought about me this way today?
Kindness and human investment are the greatest forms of investment. They can yield returns that even Dangote's IPO shares may not match. If you keep getting it clear, keep using it to clear road for people who are in dire needs around you, without expecting nothing in return.
Sometimes, the people you help when they have nothing are the same people who remember you when they have everything.
We’ve lost the art of fighting for friendships, relationships, or simply people worth fighting for. Everyone seems to be wearing their ego on their sleeves.
Nigeria sells raw cocoa at $8,000 a tonne. Processed into butter it earns $48,000. Made into chocolate it earns $240,000. 30 times the money, yet Nigeria is still choosing $8,000.
Solar owners in Nigeria, let me tell you something nobody is talking about.
You spent ₦3M–₦8M on panels, inverter, battery. You're generating 15–20kWh a day. Your house uses maybe 8–10kWh. The rest? It sits in your battery until it's full. Then your charge controller just… stops. Your panels are literally cooking in Lagos sun producing power that goes NOWHERE.
Meanwhile, the neighbor next door is spending ₦5,000/day on fuel. The tenant upstairs is rationing between charging her phone and running a fan. The shop across the street closes shop by 4pm because they don’t have gen.
You have surplus power. They have unmet demand. There's a 10-metre cable between you. But there's no system to meter it, bill for it, or make it safe.
That's what @tspowergrid is.
We built the missing layer- a smart metering hub that sits between your solar system and your neighbors. It tracks every kilowatt-hour. Neighbors top up via WhatsApp/Telegram. You set your own price. ₦150/kWh, ₦200/kWh- whatever makes sense for your street. Earnings hit your dashboard in real time.
Here's the full picture:
THE HOST (you): You own the solar system. You install our Gateway Hub. You become a micro-utility. You earn ₦80K–₦150K/month from 3–5 neighbors.
THE NEIGHBOR: They get cheaper power than petrol gen (₦200/kWh vs ₦330+/kWh for fuel). No capital outlay. No generator maintenance. No noise. No fumes. They just tap and pay.
THE HUB: Our hardware smart meters at each connection point. It measures generation, consumption, battery state, and billing. All data flows live to our cloud platform.
THE PLATFORM: Real-time dashboard. Earnings tracking. Neighbor management. Wallet top-ups. Withdraw to bank. This is the actual business. We're not a solar company. We're a platform company. Solar is just how hosts get onboarded.
THE BILLING: Prepaid wallet system. Neighbor loads ₦2,000 via WhatsApp. Meter deducts as they consume. When wallet hits zero, power pauses. No arguments. No "I'll pay you later." No awkward conversations.
Now let me address the FEAR:
NEMSA just released new guidelines because fire incidents from solar installations are INCREASING across Nigeria. Battery explosions. Inverter overheating. Bad wiring. Mixing old and new batteries. No BMS on lithium setups. Kano's Singer Market burned twice in two weeks- solar battery explosion suspected. ₦5 BILLION in damage.
This happens when there's no monitoring. No management system. No one watching the data.
Our hub monitors your system 24/7. Battery temp. Charge cycles. Load distribution. Fault alerts go straight to your phone via the web app. This is what "managed solar" means. Not just install and pray.
THE BUSINESS MODEL:
If you don't have solar → Full Stack package. ₦6M, 5kW system, 3-month installment. Panels, inverter, lithium battery, gateway hub, meters for 3 neighbors, installation, 12-month warranty.
If you already have solar → Upgrade Kit. ₦800K+. We add the metering layer, connect your neighbors, and you start earning in days.
We take a 5% platform fee on transactions. That's it. You keep 95% of what your neighbors pay.
IBPM installers, solar companies, estate managers- we're not competing with you. We're giving your customers a reason to say yes faster. "This system pays for itself" is the most powerful sales line in solar. We make it true.
This is not a concept. The platform is live. Data loop is working. First Lagos pilot is being installed.
Be your own Power Grid.
this act won’t take you anywhere if you are building something real and meaningful with a friend or partner.
you owe them shalaye if you genuinely care about them.
Reducing what goes on in a boy’s head on his birthday to fake maturity is an evidence to how insensitive the other gender can be to a boy, many times even in relationships.
For boys, a lot of expectations are attached to age
While birthday is a call for studio photoshoot for some
for many boys, new age is a reminder of the apartment of their own that they should have had
It’s a reminder that they are getting too old to be where they’re financially, academically and relationship wise etc
On a normal day a boy could just sit and start thinking of how to move forward in life, that thinking is more intense on a birthday
So if they don’t send a picture of themselves as broadcast to all contacts on WhatsApp group for a repost, it’s not a flex
They are grateful for life, but when they have something truly worth celebrating they won’t hold back
It’s not fake maturity, we are usually on a date with reality and reality is not friendly.
The most exhausting, unspoken burden on men in modern dating is that they are expected to be the sole architects of the relationship. A man is expected to initiate the first text, plan the dates, fund the experiences, orchestrate the proposal, and constantly drive the romance forward. We have completely normalized a culture where a woman’s mere presence is considered her "effort." The absolute second a man gets tired of being the only engine keeping the relationship moving and asks for equal romantic effort, he is instantly accused of being "inconsistent" or "low effort." We demand 50/50 modern equality, but aggressively enforce traditional male burdens the exact moment romance is involved.
A lot of young women already have the idea of divorce planned down in their minds the same way they plan their birthdays, bridal shower and wedding day.
The divorce mentality and ideology has already been established even before thinking of how to love their partner, how to understand their partner, how to make the marriage work, how to handle and fix marital issues, how to resolve misunderstandings and conflicts in the family, whom and how to seek counselling in the event of marital issues.
Their levels of impatience, lack of tolerance, understanding of what marriage and partnership in marriage means is way too high and above their heads.
Their mental calculations and plan for divorce is already established, strategized and laid down before they even get married, they already have it deeply in mind far much more than the success of their marriage in the future itself.
Their lack of understanding of parenting and the expectations and responsibilities of both both parents as parents and the individual responsibilities of each parent.
In additon the lack of knowledge of the deep details of what communication entails, it is not just talking, communication also consists of listening which many of them fail to understand and come to terms with.
There is also mutual respect in communication, these are basics you should already know as a woman and the respect for your man comes first and is topmost priority in your relationship.
This whole 50:50 conversation is a conversation for poor people.
Mentally poor people.
It takes a serious level of mental poverty to be fighting passionately for your right to watch your partner suffer while you hoard your own money.
Again, mental poverty in glorious display.
