@float_financial "Built with โค๏ธ by Canadians for Canadians." - Except we force you to send all of your personal, private and sensitive data to a shady American corporation to poorly validate identities, because apparently we actually hate Canadians. @PrivacyPrivee
@lemire This isn't "scary" - this is always what concrete work looks like. And the STM is already funded and actively working on this station so I'm not sure what more you want from them. They only get 4 hours a night to work on it unless you want it shut down.

@lemire These are guides for concrete injection - the tied off tubes. This is how you fix the concrete roof (from 1966!) without shutting down the subway all day. This station is in phase 2 of a multi-billion dollar reno. This is what finished sections of the exact same stop look like.
Just posted Chancy (a batteries-included tasks queue built on Postgres) as a Show HN! If you've used Python + Celery, give it a a look: https://t.co/oOdxDQOxPy
v0.14 of Chancy is out, now with a SubInterpreterExecutor built on @ericsnowcrntly's InterpreterPoolExecutor. Use Chancy workflows to mix jobs using asyncio, threads, processes, and now sub-interpreters. https://t.co/mCZ7TqCTqb
@Woodruff4Ed@UKpbr2@GavinNewsom So? Their rating is high, the debt is serviceable at 2.3% of tax load, and the majority of that debt is municipal bonds issued by the state to build and repair infrastructure - you know, an investment. If they weren't giving so much to the fed it would take 5 years to pay off.
@Woodruff4Ed@UKpbr2@GeauxGabrielle@GavinNewsom California is the 2nd least reliant state on federal funds (% of budget). California gets $162 billion from the fed, and PAYS the fed $472 billion. California alone is the world's 5th largest economy. Most of its debt is owned by its own citizens.
@mitsuhiko There are no upsides for anyone but Trump's inner-circle. No country succeeds when they elect someone who is a blatant racist, misogynistic, bankrupt-6-times, convicted of sexual assault, convicted felon with over 4000 lawsuits. He will sell everything to those who give favors.
@lemire I'd appreciate it! I'm limited in how much further I can take https://t.co/FXEuzdyWLY due to a lack of physical hardware to test with. VirtualBox and friends emulate a very small subset reliably. I'm hoping someone at one of the schools is working on archival projects.
@lemire By chance you aware of any labs in Montreal working with legacy storage devices? I'm trying to find physical IDE drives, tape drives, older and newer ATA/SATA and SAS devices, etc...
@mitsuhiko @stlr_fr Completely agree. The nicest thing is that my feed is, you know, _my_ feed. Topics and people I am explicitly interested in. I check Twitter and it's a giant wall of pro-Trump propaganda I have no interest in (I'm Canadian) and don't follow anyone who does, yet it's 90% of it.
You are a great software engineer? You speak French? You want to become my colleague in Montreal or Quebec City?
We have a position as a professor of practice (a PhD is NOT required) at @TELUQ (University of Quebec).
We are looking someone who can help us teach students how software is really built today.
@lemire@dhh Just to put into numbers - there were less protesters than people at the hockey game. They were not popular, their message was not popular, and 0.5% of the city's population should not be able to hold its residents hostage for weeks on end.
