@Tiesetso5@XSolwazi61633@Les_01111@vha_mo Lol I think the guys who came up with that FW got some big bucks (im just assuming not factual). Those are the challenges my peers raise, interviews they suffer when applying for fullstack jobs, they end up just going backend now imagine you worked there from graduate level...
@munandih@vha_mo I agree with you on most of the stuff functionality is unmatched but how you present it also counts, some people dont know you can browse for property and cars, or get stokvel accounts from the app, simplicity is key, and CP does it well... but i agree with your views on feaures
@munandih@vha_mo I dont wanna mention it by name but that FW is buggy man, simple things like adding an icon, Open source is way stress less than that FW... reinventing the wheel is a bit of waste for me, if tools are there and supported by millions why not use it...
@munandih@vha_mo and the reason im saying this is cause of the frustrations and limitations i have seen from the devs when they need certain functionality and have to wait for the framework team to develop it, or being told it cant be done, while business wants it done.
@munandih@vha_mo Subjective true, each to its own, capitec issues is never their frontend stack, its always processing, nothing to do with UI really. I was discussing more on ui, functionality ofcause fnb 1 way but i feel if they stop reinventing the wheel and work on usability it would be great
@munandih@vha_mo frature typo (meant features).
If im not sure about discovery's mobile app but as a former employee i know their website they are moving away from Jsp to angular with java as backend. Stb (ionic with angular) and capitec open source as well... building own framework is a waste
@munandih@vha_mo capitec UI is better user experience... and im talking about face value here not features... FNB has the best frature but its mess for someone to navigate around for someone not tech savy... discovery teams mostly use angular on front end web apps and java is backend
@munandih@vha_mo Other banks are doing well with open source, IMO react is quiet stable... bigger companies like Meta, Netflix, are using React and its quiet a powerful and customizable framework... upgrades are not that hard to do, just like they do upgrades on their languages like java
@Tiesetso5@Les_01111@XSolwazi61633@vha_mo Well said brother exactly what i was trying to say here https://t.co/QumRTXmYXQ
It honestly makes no sense for me There's open source technologies which contains a whole international community to contribute to it... why build your own trying to match up to it?
@Ontlathato@XSolwazi61633@vha_mo Lets say you bake bread ne but wena you want to first create an oven yourself then bake your own bread, instead of just go buy a simple oven and focus on baking bread, now you spend time maintaining the oven and less time on focusing on the quality and type of the bread
@munandih@vha_mo spend too much time maintaining their tools which affects their production, and capabilities . I love their features and ecosystem but they can use other technologies to achieve better result... but its my opinion, they got architects and UI analyst they know what they r doing
