Proud to announce the authorization of our commemorative “America 250” shoulder patch in recognition of our nation’s upcoming 250th anniversary.
Thank you to the @ToaAz for helping make this project possible and for supporting our department.

🇺🇸Honored to be a part of #SaluteToService with the @AZCardinals@PhoenixToolBank@pattillmanfnd Spending the day with players, veterans, cheerleaders and the community, building picnic tables for veteran organizations. We even put BigRed to work!🇺🇸
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and throughout the month our Tempe Police Department team will be wearing pink badges and patches to show our support for those who have battled, survived, and continue to fight this disease. 💗
A small symbol with a powerful message, we stand together in strength, hope, and compassion.

Police Officer Didarul Islam represented the very best of our department.
He was protecting New Yorkers from danger when his life was tragically cut short today.
We join in prayer during this time of incomprehensible pain. We will forever honor his legacy.

We also stand with our City Council and City Manager as they work to navigate the complex balance of compassionately addressing homelessness while responsibly managing a safe and livable city.
🧵Accusations comparing Tempe Police officers to Nazis are not only reprehensible, they are dangerously ignorant. Our officers are among the most highly trained in the nation when it comes to mental health and crisis response, and they lead with compassion, not cruelty.
Our department works daily with social workers, outreach teams, and medical providers to connect people to services, not jail cells. Enforcing laws does not make someone inhumane; dehumanizing public servants with slurs does.
Big congrats to @TempePolice Officer Aaron Williams, named 2025 First Responder of the Year by the @TempeChamber! 👏
As our Naloxone Program Coordinator, he ensures our officers are trained & equipped to save lives when seconds matter.
Proud of his life-saving leadership! 💙

Every person is endowed by God with the Freedom to Speak, Assemble and be heard. Assaulting and attacking cops is unacceptable and should be denounced by everyone!
“Let me be clear: assaulting a police officer, or hurting another person, or damaging property for any reason is not acceptable and those who do so will be held accountable for their unlawful actions."
With heavy hearts, we honor the life of Officer Drew Nystrom, who served the Tempe community for more than two decades with unwavering dedication
His legacy will live on — in his loving family, our department, and in the community he helped protect. He will never be forgotten💙

Tempe cops don't give preferential treatment to anyone. Even Chicago cops who break the law and seek special treatment are treated like every other citizen. Professionally and with respect.
Lawful stop. Lawful arrest. End of story.
Video obtained by ABC15 shows Tempe officers placing a Chicago officer in handcuffs for allegedly squealing his tires for “1-2 seconds.”
Jalen Woods filed multiple complaints with Tempe PD, saying he believes he was targeted for being Black. STORY: https://t.co/mfoKDa7DT3
On this MLK holiday, let's remember the powerful words of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.: 'I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear.' Let’s choose love and unity today and every day. #MLKDay
