@AutoInfatuation@Whowaa My understanding is the rolling radius of OE star rated tyres with staggered widths is within the tolerances required for the transfer box. Anything else might be OK but a bit of a gamble. Square set up seems the obvious solution then buy 4 matching tyres and rotate for even wear
@MotoNutJob@houghtonc79@networkrail@HIExpress@premierinn Premier Inn Oldham was the same story a few years back. Technician vans (and cars full of kit) we were instructed by staff to park in the disabled bays in view of reception for security reasons.
@thealexbear@TOBOENGINEER BMW following a similar if not quite as drastic path. Current X5 silly things like the chrome grille are now just silver plastic and the switchgear seems cheaper than prev model. Interesting your comment on the Q7. Tried the 55 TFSI in the summer and bought a 7-seat X5 instead.
Tax his land, Tax his bed,
Tax the table, At which he's fed.
Tax his tractor, Tax his mule,
Teach him taxes are the rule.
Tax his work, Tax his pay,
He works for peanuts anyway!
Tax his cow, Tax his goat, Tax his pants, Tax his coat.
Tax his ties, Tax his shirt, Tax his work, Tax his dirt.
Tax his tobacco, Tax his drink, Tax him if he Tries to think.
Tax his cigars, Tax his beers, If he cries Tax his tears.
Tax his car, Tax his gas, Find any way To tax his ass!
Tax him all he has, then let him know
That you won't be done Till he has no dough.
When he screams and when he hollers;
Then tax him more, take all his dollars
Then tax his coffin, Tax his grave,
Tax the sod in Which he's laid...
Put these words Upon his tomb:
‘Taxes drove me to my doom...'
When he's gone, Do not relax,
It's time to apply Inheritance Tax!

@MattTakeThree@VW I ran a cheap 99 Focus 1.6 from 130k-233k. Didn’t cost me a penny beyond servicing and an air con condenser. Bought an 07 Focus 2.0 on the strength of the first and took it from 20k-137k before it needed welding. The same mileage in a mint 51 Audi S3 cost me £’000s in repairs.
@5054magazine £6,055 worth of “Individual” paint (retail) there.
These are an odd thing. After discounts they don’t seem much more expensive than the (foot shorter) X5 with the same spec.
No PHEV means standard petrol 6 an option too (3rd row seats go where the battery fits on the X5 50e ?)
@LUDENClassics This seems more going back to normal to me. It’s a ticking time bomb unless you’ve access to a workshop. Prices have been crackers in recent years. Going back to 2008, this sort of money bought a sub-10 year old BMW 540i, quite fabulous until it developed a habit of going wrong.
