🔴 Dave Thorne Returns ⚪️
We are delighted to announce the return of Dave Thorne as Assistant Manager.
A key figure of Dave Pearse’s previous spell at the club, Dave made just under 200 appearances before following Pearse to Exmouth.
He then joined Portishead, helping them secure a league and cup double before playing his part in Clevedon Town’s playoff push last season.
As well as Assistant Manager, Dave will be part of the playing squad.
Dave Pearse said: “I’m delighted to welcome Thorney back to the club as my assistant.
He is a fantastic character and has all the attributes for this job and has the hunger to push the club forward.
Even though its his first time in this job, his playing career has given him a wealth of experience already which made it an easy choice to get him in and I’m looking forward to having him back.”
Thorne said: “I’m delighted to be rejoining Bridgwater United. Everyone knows we’ve got unfinished business here and when Pearsey got in touch to offer me the chance of coming back home it was an opportunity I couldn’t turn down.
I’m hungry to help drive the club forward, support the squad both on and off the pitch, and play my part in bringing success back. The ambition here is clear, and I’m excited to be part of the journey ahead.
I can’t wait to get started again, reconnect with everyone and give everything I have for the club.
Up the Robins!”
Welcome back, Thorney!

⭐️ Voting was close but Toby Lawrence, our rock at the back, was voted player of the month for February. Toby played every minute of our 5 games, helping to keep 3 clean sheets, & topped things off with the second goal in our victory over Clevedon.
Well played Toby 👏
