Are there any photography genres or styles @TobyShawPhoto hasn't explored yet but would like to in the future?
"I always thought that life was precious and well worth documenting so when I found photography at a young age I was photographing my mates skateboarding which is how I started. I would capture everything from action to portraits, and all the laughs in between. Because of this background I found my genre early on and that's always been people and portraits. My style has been described as raw, realistic, and relatable as I don't like to kill my moments with heavy photoshop or retouch. My style reflects the way I think, and that everyone has something beautiful about them. I don't want to hide that with lots of retouch or harsh edits. I love Black & White images and I love shooting film. When I shoot film I either use Ilford, or Kodak Portra for the colours. Shooting film to me is a luxury so I tend to shoot digital and when something in a shoot is working then I'll switch it to film. I love the whole idea of patience and slowing down when using film as opposed to digital which is very much instant and 'now'. It's nice to step away from the screen with a roll of film, a physical object rather than digital files."
