In a review of our cybersecurity evaluations, we found three incidents in which a Claude model reached the internet from within or while interacting with a third-party evaluation environment, and then gained unauthorized access to the real systems of three different organizations.
Our post describes what happened, how it happened, and what we’re changing. We encourage other AI developers to perform similar reviews.
We conducted this review together with @Irregular, one of our evaluation partners, and thank them for the joint investigation and their collaboration on this post. This type of collaboration is increasingly critical to safe, rigorous evaluation of models, and we look forward to continuing to work together on security.

AI won’t come for blue collar jobs, they said.
AI-assisted consoles can manage four excavators across separate pits with low daily utilization, cutting combined operator wages from $224k to about $60,000 annually.
That’s $164,000 in salaries, gone.
THE $100,000 H-1B FEE IS DEAD
A federal appeals court refused to revive it. A judge ruled it is a tax, and only Congress can tax.
The fee was in effect for ten months. There is no refund guidance for anyone who paid, and the proclamation self-expires anyway on September 21.
I feel like I need perspectives from people like @SteveNomadic and @CaptBob_Nomadic on this important aviation topic: https://t.co/gO4enMWoEP
Maybe a topic for the pod? 🤣
We’re planning another USA trip this fall!🇺🇸
It’s going to be a road trip with college football as the main focus, but we’re also planning to check out plenty of other sports and unique American events.
The idea for this trip actually came from our visits to a few colleges on the last trip. Everyone told us how crazy it gets on gamedays, so now we want to experience it ourselves.
Now we need your expertise: Which colleges should we visit? What games are interesting? And what other events or activities (also non sporting related) are worth checking out in September/October?
So far we have these on our list:
- Oktoberfest in Helen, GA
- Texas State Fair
- Breeders' Cup in Kentucky
@nyike Their status page shows they have pretty terrible reliability for such a critically-important service. If Microsoft had the same service, CIO’s would be skewering their account managers and MS leadership. The standard for AI companies needs to be higher.
The Project Sunrise @Airbus A350-1000ULR has touched down in Toulouse, France after completing a 24 hour 24 minute non-stop flight from Melbourne, Australia.
The aircraft flew northeast over the Pacific, over the US and Canada, then across the Atlantic and south over the UK to Toulouse, crossing three continents and two oceans, with two sunsets and two sunrises along the way.
The first autonomous agent cyberattack is an unprecedented event that deserves unprecedented transparency. Today we’re sharing everything we can: a full technical timeline, an interactive replay, and how we used an open model to defend ourselves, so defenders everywhere can learn from it and prepare for what’s next.

Today, we are announcing a series of updates that give customers frontier-grade security at half the cost.
MAI-Cyber-1-Flash is our first cybersecurity model, built ground up to find the most challenging vulnerabilities in complex code bases. When combined with MDASH, it delivers world-class performance at 50 percent of the cost of leading models.
We are bringing this capability to market through Project Perception, a complete agentic security offering grounded in real-world signals and security workflows. Teams of specialized agents work together to simulate attacks, detect and triage/investigate, and fix and remediate.
This is the benefit of building the harness, context/signals, and action space separate from one model family. By combining specialized models and data with the right agents, tools, security context, and harness, we can advance the frontier of cost to outcome.
Q2 was an amazing quarter, with our AI investments redefining what’s possible across every part of our business.
Alphabet revenue grew 24% YoY and Google Cloud accelerated to 82% growth. We saw exciting momentum across the board from Search to YouTube to the Gemini app (which reached 950M monthly active users). Our model APIs are processing 22B tokens/min (up from 16B+ last quarter) driven by our workhorse Flash models. We’re also seeing great adoption of Gemini Enterprise, used by 90% of the Fortune 100, as well as strong demand for our security solutions.
Outstanding results and momentum, and such an exciting moment—thanks to all of our partners and employees around the world! 🙌 About to hop on the call!
A quick favor for anyone flying this summer: I built a free calculator comparing airport parking, rideshare and transit. Try the airport you use most. Does this seem useful to you? https://t.co/qIRq57cJUA #TravelTips#AirportParking
Site is aimed at helping you figure out the estimated cost of #driving and #parking at the #airport, vs rideshare or (soon) other options like #buses, #rail, etc. @parkorrideapp covers more than 1,500 airports globally. It's all free. https://t.co/qIRq57cJUA
