Great to sit down with @mshrnakagawa at @tbs_bloomberg on my recent visit to Japan. We covered a lot of ground: AI agent security, the blueprint for the secure agentic enterprise, and what I’m seeing in the Japanese market specifically.
One thing that came through clearly in conversations throughout my visit: Japanese companies take governance seriously. That's a genuine strength. But like every market I visit, there's a shadow AI gap. In Japan, 85% of executives are confident in their AI visibility, yet nearly half of employees are using AI without approval.
You can't enforce a policy on what you can't see. That gap is exactly why the blueprint for the secure agentic enterprise is resonating globally. The questions are the same everywhere: Where are my agents? What can they connect to? What can they do?
Every leader I talk to is navigating the same tension right now: The business wants more AI agent connections. Security needs to see and govern every one of them.
There’s a clear way to resolve this tension, and it runs through identity.
Last week, @AnthropicAI announced @okta as the first identity provider supporting secure agent connections for Claude. For joint customers, it means seamless agentic workflows for users and centralized policy, visibility, and revocation for IT. It’s all governed through MCP’s Enterprise-Managed Auth extension: an open protocol called Cross App Access.
But we’re not stopping there. Today the Cross App Access ecosystem is expanding, with more than 25 integrations across the tools and resources where enterprise work happens, from @asana , @Atlassian , @canva , and @cursor_ai , to @figma , @glean , @linear , @SlackHQ , @Zoom , and more.
And we’re just getting started. The secure agentic future will depend on ecosystem alignment around open standards, with identity at the center. Okta is uniquely positioned to work across the industry to deliver this foundation, and we’re committed to helping lead the way.
Back on @Bloomberg with @CarolineHydeTV and @EdLudlow at #BloombergTech to talk about how AI makes identity and Okta more critical than ever. Agents are only as good as what they're connected to, and every connection is a new risk. That's what Okta secures.
Great to join @CNBC Closing Bell: Overtime to talk about @okta strong first quarter, the blueprint for the secure agentic enterprise, and how it’s helping organizations answer the three questions that have dominated my customer conversations over the past several months: Where are my agents? What can they connect to? And what can they do?
I spoke with @Edgecliffe at @semafor about the agentic era and why the challenge for leaders isn’t just deploying agents, it’s adapting quickly without losing sight of security. https://t.co/fQPcipIOes
I recently joined @reckless on @DecoderPod to discuss the “SaaSpocalypse,” the future of software, and why the identity layer for AI agents could become the biggest category in cyber. Really enjoyed this conversation: https://t.co/afZ84f2ymM
At @Okta Showcase, we announced the blueprint for the secure agentic enterprise and showed how Okta for AI Agents helps every organization answer the questions: Where are my agents? What can they connect to? What can they do? Learn more here: https://t.co/3YePpscKdi
Great joining @BrianSozzi at @YahooFinance to discuss the blueprint for the secure agentic enterprise and how Okta for AI Agents, which will be generally available April 30, helps organizations put that blueprint into practice. https://t.co/OKEqoWLxUW
Next week at @Okta Showcase, we’ll share how organizations can answer three increasingly urgent questions: Where are my AI agents? What can they connect to? And what can they do?

Great to join the Money Movers team at @CNBC to talk about @Okta earnings, and why customers are coming to us to help them secure and scale their AI investments.
Last week was our FY27 Company and Sales Kickoffs. The energy was high, and the focus was clear: @Okta secures AI.
Congratulations to our Founder’s Award winners. You represent the best of our culture. Let’s go, FY27!
Shadow AI is replacing Shadow IT. We’re introducing new capabilities in @Okta for AI Agents to map the blast radius of every agent in your stack. Discover the shadow agents, identify the overprivileged identities, and provide the killswitch.
I’m joining @johncoogan@jordihays@TBPN tomorrow to talk about how @Okta gives technology leaders and builders the freedom to innovate securely with AI.
AI security is identity security. If we don’t secure AI agents now, we risk undoing the past 10 years’ worth of security progress, and AI will not reach its full potential.
Cross App Access (XAA) is now the #MCP authorization extension: ‘Enterprise-Managed Authorization’.
Proud @okta played a role in establishing this new protocol to secure AI. https://t.co/VAPtPvRszi
Proud to share that @okta has been named a Leader in the @Gartner_inc Magic Quadrant for Access Management for the 9th consecutive year.
