Il existe un village français où l'heure s'est arrêtée à un après-midi de juin 1944. Et c'est l'État qui a décidé qu'elle ne repartirait jamais.

Les murs sont noircis. Les toits ont disparu. Une voiture rouille au milieu de la rue depuis quatre-vingts ans. Personne ne l'a déplacée. C'est voulu.

Oradour-sur-Glane, en Haute-Vienne. Un bourg tranquille d'environ 1 500 habitants, à vingt kilomètres de Limoges. Loin du front. On s'y croyait à l'abri.

Cet après-midi-là, quatre jours après le Débarquement, une colonne de la division SS Das Reich remonte vers la Normandie. Elle encercle le village. Rassemble tout le monde. Sépare les hommes des femmes et des enfants.

En quelques heures, 643 personnes sont tuées. Près de la moitié étaient des enfants.

Une seule femme, Marguerite Rouffanche, a survécu à l'église. Elle a témoigné.

Après la guerre, la France a fait un choix rare. Ne pas reconstruire. Ne pas effacer. En 1946, le village martyr devient propriété de l'État, classé pour être préservé en l'état.

Un village entier laissé en ruines, pour que personne n'oublie.

Aujourd'hui encore, on traverse ces rues en silence. Il n'y a rien à ajouter. Seulement à se souvenir.

@tkyles39 Roster's in a bit of a weird state, isn't it? If AVT is moderately healthy and Wilson is solid at C, that's a good team. But beyond 2026 the roster still needs a lot of work, and it doesn't look like a team that should trade a high pick for an aging WR with knee issues.

We see clear fingerprints of greenhouse gas-driven climate change: the upper atmosphere is cooling while the lower atmosphere, surface, and oceans are warming.

If it were external factors like to sun driving warming we'd see the whole atmosphere warm.
