@Bankole_Adeoye These groups need to be trained in early warning systems, threat identification, monitoring and reporting.
This will go a long way in increasing Africa’s capacity for conflict prevention and ‘Silencing the Guns’ on the continent.
Congrats on the great work you’re doing sir👏🏼👏🏼
@Bankole_Adeoye Women, youth, community leaders and faith based associations in the communities are the ones who usually have the first knowledge of information of intending violence or conflicts before it spirals to full blown violence.
@Bankole_Adeoye Yes sir. There’s an urgent need for the AU to prioritize conflict prevention on the continent.
Africa needs to change the narrative from being a conflict zone .
Early warning systems, especially Community based early warning systems are critical to achieving this feat.
@azelin@Jihadology_Net@jh_barnett@VincentFoucher Hello Aaron. I commend the good work you’re providing resources for scholars working on Jihadism. I am a researcher working at the intersection of women and jihadist terrorism in the Sahel.
I want to register on Jihadology but I have a Gmail account. I would appreciate your help
Indeed, these are military personnel that are saddled with the responsibility of protecting the territorial integrity of the country and defend it. They are busy protecting land. How sad😟
Imagine the number of serving military personnel sent to protect a land belonging to a retired officer....
And we support it just because we hate Nyseom Wike
@BalogunKakanfo1 Honestly, I couldn’t agree more with you. The level of impunity is preposterous. Sweeping this under the carpet will only embolden the military and other security agencies that should be subordinate to civil authority.
It was indeed a great honour for the NIIA to be received by the Governor of Lagos state. We at the NIIA are grateful to the Governor for his enduring legacy at the Institute.
Today, I received Professor Eghosa Osaghae, Director-General of the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, and Prof. Bolaji Akinyemi on a courtesy visit at Lagos House, Marina.
NIIA continues to play a vital role in shaping Nigeria’s voice on the global stage. We had a conversation on strengthening collaboration and advancing Nigeria’s interests at home and abroad.
