Washington Policy Strategist for Fundstrat. Headed gov't relations for JPMC during 21 years career at bank. Ran House and Senate offices @Fundstrat @tomblock_fs
I was in charge of getting a commencement speaker for my college graduation. It was Memorial Day weekend and tough to find someone. Then I learned that Senator Riegle’s sister was in our class and with her help he was our speaker that I got to introduce. Sorry to read of his passing.

Each time I go to Central Park I look for the stone dedicated to my friend Neil Levin who died on 9/11 trying to help people out of the WTC. There is construction at the spot and at first I didn’t see Neil’s stone. It’s dirty but I found it right beside the construction gate.
Strong memories tonight of elementary school watching first human space landings. At 27 I was aide to Ohio Sen. Robert Taft Jr and I got to work with the other Ohio Senator John Glenn. Wish the iPhone had been invented so I could have picture with Senator/astronaut Glenn.
Weekend post: As sea turtle nesting season begins at Juno Beach the first count post is up. Each year there are nearly 20,000 turtles that lay their eggs on the Juno beach.
This weekend we went to the New World Symphony in Miami Beach. Fun concert and our seats right behind the base section are so close we can see the notes on the sheet music.
@NateMorris 20 years ago we went to China and when we said we lived in Kentucky nearly every Chinese person we met would knowingly shake their head and say: “Kentucky fried chicken.”
@ktumulty@glastris I also thought of Lincoln yesterday and posted this picture of a Lincoln statue my great grandparents gave to the Louisville library. In the 1930s there was a big flood that reach Lincoln and he appeared to be walking on water.
On President’s Day I think of this picture of a Lincoln statue my great grandparents gave to the Louisville library and during a record flood the water reached the statue to create Lincoln walking on water.
@bresreports Nothing changes. Between attending AU and working on Capitol Hill I was in DC for 10 years during the 1970s and same complaint back then. Global warming may be the only answer.
With government shutdown approaching Barron’s reporter Joe Light quoted me in an article.
It would be hard to avoid a short shutdown even if that path were taken since such a move would require the House to vote on the funding bill again. That might not be possible until next week, said Fundstrat Washington policy strategist L. Thomas Block. While “there were no winners” in the last shutdown, “the Democrats’ base is demanding some action by Senate Dems this coming week,” Block said.
@JakeSherman Between college and working on the Hill I lived in DC for 10 years and this is nothing new. The excuse I heard was that it snows so little they couldn’t justify spending money on snow removal equipment. Little changes in DC.
