I don't do party politics on X - I salute everyone who is giving it a go on 4 July - but there is one candidate I will be supporting: https://t.co/6c0bWLjog5 - she has a cool head, a warm heart, integrity & energy, & represents the new generation that parliament needs now.
Aside from the day I married my wife and had my children, being MP for Great Yarmouth for 14 years has been the honour of my life.
But it wouldn’t have been possible without a great number of people.
As the General Election is called and my time in Parliament comes to an end, I reflect on those wonderful people who have helped me so much during my time as an MP, Lord Chancellor, Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, Minister and Chairman of our great party.
My constituency office team, special advisers, civil servants, local Conservative association and the hundreds of party activists who have helped deliver leaflets and knock on doors are the reason I’ve been able to achieve what I have.
And to the people of Great Yarmouth - I’ve never forgotten that you put your faith in me to deliver for you. We’ve made some great progress over the years, and I very much hope you feel able to support my successor in continuing that record of delivery.
Politics is a brutal game - and being able to go home and close the door to a loving family makes it all the more palatable. My wife, Justine, has been the anchor that I have been able to depend upon during some of the most challenging turbulent waters. I owe her and my family an enormous debt of gratitude.
Our great Conservative Party is more than just a political movement - it’s been a huge part of my life, and has kept the ship steadied during the most challenging times for our country.
I look forward to supporting my colleagues across the country to secure a Conservative government on July 5.
This is disgusting.
Not only for the parents but also it sets an example to the children without disabilities that it’s ok to cast those with additional needs aside & pretend they don’t exist. Setting an example to the next generation, we must do better.

When they told my husband he had four months to live, he wanted to go to Dignitas. But by the end, at home surrounded by love, he was so glad he didn't... https://t.co/q0UQaC2pDC

📺 The recent report for the Adam Smith Institute shows that there is a groundswell of support for building the right homes in the right places.
That’s why we should just get on and build - no excuses.
