@ellolad25@PolitlcsUK Maybe understand the point at hand.
Former Manchester mayor moves parts of “the number 10” machine to Manchester on day one of how government.
It’s cronyism. And it’ll make his life easier when he scuttles back to retake to the mayoralty after a stint as PM. It stinks.
@SophyRidgeSky Cannot quite say this strongly enough:
When I am paying circa £750 p/month on Plan 2 and Postgrad loans, having battled outrageous interest rates, a ridiculous marginal tax rate, sky high train fares … I don’t give the slightest damn about £3.50 p/month off electricity bills
@KajeBirmingham Agreed. We need some serious signings to get us anywhere near the level needed. Simply can’t go into the opening fixtures we’ve got being all over the place.
We’ll be nearer the drop than the playoffs, despite the expanded format, if things don’t change rapidly.
@El_Pavlos@BCFC Lord. Why have you carried this on? I’ve made it clear that I don’t agree with the club on strategy here, but I’ll back the lad.
As for opinions, football or otherwise, we live in a world of closing down alternative views, polarisation and groupthink. Challenging that is healthy
@El_Pavlos@BCFC And I’m more than entitled to voice my opinion as I see fit.
In my view your framing is disingenuous, as we’re at least 12 months from a permanent no.1, and we’re effectively doing Brighton a massive favour by giving him game time.
That said, he needs confidence. I’ll back him
@Bluenose_Andy@BCFC It can work - Rushworth is a good example.
Agree on the last point as well. My misgivings are with the club, not the player. We know from last season he’s clearly a player who performs better with confidence under his belt, so we have to back him.
@El_Pavlos@BCFC It’s a position I would prioritise with funds.
I honestly don’t think it’s a stretch to say that a solid keeper can gain you up to 30 points over three seasons. A fourth choice midfielder probably doesn’t do that.
@Bluenose_Andy@BCFC I agree with the premise of your point, but there are positions which should be prioritised with funds rather than relying on loans. In my view, the keeper position is one of those.
In dark seasons, we’ve seen what a confident and competent keeper can do: get you over the line.
@BCFC Can’t knock a player leaving for personal reasons. Good player, best of luck to him.
That said, we seem utterly rudderless at present. Hope it’s a case of work being done in the background and the leaks have stopped, but no DoF, no merch, no incomings. Is everything okay at B9?
@itvfootball@gabrielclarke05 “That missing piece” isn’t getting into the lead and then playing six at the back for half an hour.
I’m not sure it’s an anonymous centre forward and captain either. Soul searching, then bravery, required.
