π¨ Toni Kroos Slams Arsenal's UCL Final Performance, Labels It "Shambolic"
π£οΈ: "Arsenal fans have every right to be disappointed after losing the final, but blaming the referee is the wrong place to look. If anyone should feel hard done by, it is PSG. I saw far more reason for PSG to complain about the handball by Bukayo Saka in the penalty area than Arsenal have to complain about the Madueke incident. From my perspective, Madueke was holding Nuno Mendes as much as anything else.
What surprised me most was Arsenal's approach to the game. A Champions League final is the biggest stage in club football, yet Arsenal seemed more focused on surviving than playing. For 120 minutes they defended deep, slowed the game down, and looked content to waste time whenever possible. Even after equalizing, there was no real intention to take control of the match or push for a winner.
It felt as though the entire plan was to reach penalties because they trusted David Raya to save them. There is nothing wrong with being organized defensively, but there must also be ambition. Finals are there to be won, not simply endured.
I have watched Champions League finals for many years, and honestly, this is the worst final performance I have ever seen from a football club. Arsenal played as if they were the underdog trying to survive, not a team trying to become champions of Europe."
lets give a massive shoutout to the referee tonight
-didnt let saka take the corner after he was wasting time
-gave mosquera yellow card for time wasting
-didnt give madueke pen for a dive
