@gpclaw@unusual_whales It was easier (and likely cheaper) to depose Saddam Hussein than to get Nancy Pelosi to agree to commonsense Social Security reform
Partial privatization that would've allowed younger workers to opt in to diverting part of their SS taxes into personal retirement investment accounts.
"Had Congress approved Bushโs proposal and signed it into law, the reform would have extended Social Securityโs solvency for roughly a decade and reduced the programโs long-term funding shortfalls by around one-third while protecting benefits for most retirees, particularly seniors who rely on Social Security the most."

As someone who covered the region for a dozen years for the WSJ, and reported in astonishment how even under conservative Pres Ronald Reagan USAID was funding socialist projects in Latin America, I can assure you that this is ๐ฏ accurate.
Ballot harvesting is so corrupt that even third-world dictators find others ways to rig the vote because itโs too obvious.
Yet itโs โlegalโ in California, a state that canโt count a local election in under a month.
Just insane we put up with this.
Really, all you have to know about elections in California is that when voters in the city of Huntington Beach passed a charter amendment to enable the city to require voter ID in local elections, the state sued to block it and then passed a state law prohibiting voter ID.
