Seeing No 4150 at Bridgnorth yesterday got me looking for a view of one of the 1940s built locos in action. No 4176, one of the very last batch, constructed under BR at Swindon in 1949, is seen on a Newton Abbot to Kingswear local at Torquay in 1951.
Been sorting my room recently and found this face screen.
Dated to the 18th century to early 19th century. Face screens were used to protect a lady’s makeup when sitting near a fire. Now on display in my museum 😊

CREWE: APT
One of the only times I saw any part of the APT actually moving. An APT power car is in the consist of a test train heading out of Crewe in Summer 1987 (give or take!). Fascinating to compare the profile of a mk1 vs the APT.
