The woman revered world-wide as 'Mother of Peace' is hated so much by the current South Korean president that, she was incarcerated, for months in a cell without chair, bed, mattress, or privacy. 83 years old, in frail health and taken from a hospital bed. She stumbled several times and dislocated her shoulder, but was not treated for several weeks. She needed an artificial shoulder joint implanted. She is not allowed visitors while in hospital.

The president of South Korea knows everything about this...

6月3日、韓国では地方選挙の投票日。

ソウルのある投票所で、男性が投票用紙を二重に受け取ろうとした。

そして実際に可能だと分かった瞬間、自ら申告した。

男性の狙いは不正ではなく
選挙管理委員会の管理がどれだけずさんか、
それを示すためだった。

手口は単純。
上着を着替え、本人確認の列を通らず、
用紙の受け取り列へ直行する。

この投票所では、本人確認と用紙の交付が
切り離されていた。だから二度受け取れた。

二枚目を受け取る直前、彼は職員に抗議した。
システムは、誰も二度目を疑わなかったためだ。

韓国で不正選挙への不信が続く中、
その不安が現実になりうると示す一件だった。

My waiter had dementia and forgot my order.

I visited a cafe in Japan that ONLY hires people with Dementia. It's called the Cafe Of Mistaken Orders.

Sometimes the servers bring you the wrong food, never bring your order, or sit down and join you instead.

But the point of this cafe is to be a place for dementia patients to feel needed and have purpose.

And this cafe is working. Japan has discovered that being socially connected actually slows down the progression of dementia.

So now there are 8,000 dementia cafes all over Japan!

The U.S. should be more like Japan. We should keep elders out of nursing homes, find ways to give them purpose, and part of society until their last days.

Proud mom moment! Matthew worked tonight when a homeless man came into the restaurant with just 50 cents and asked if there was anything on the menu he could buy. Matthew asked him what he would order if he could have anything, and the man said anything would help with his hunger. So Matthew rang him up for a big meal and then used his own debit card to pay for it. He handed the man the receipt and told him to relax and take a seat.

The story could end there, and it would still be a happy ending. But it doesn’t. A woman had been watching Matthew and his kind act. Not only did she write to the company to tell them about the caring employee, but she also gave Matthew a very generous tip!

I’m so proud to be his mom, and I can give myself a little credit for raising such a kind-hearted young man.
