If a deal is struck to end the Iranian conflict because it is believed that the Strait of Hormuz cannot be protected from Iranian terrorism and Iran still possesses the capability to destroy major Gulf oil infrastructure, then Iran will be perceived as being a dominate force requiring a diplomatic solution.

This combination of Iran being perceived as having the ability to terrorize the Strait in perpetuity and the ability the inflict massive damage to Gulf oil infrastructure is a major shift of the balance of power in the region and over time will be a nightmare for Israel.

Also, it makes one wonder why the war started to begin with if these perceptions are accurate. I personally am a skeptic of the idea that Iran cannot be denied the ability to terrorize the Strait and the region cannot protect itself against Iranian military capability.

It is important we get this right.

Also, role of leaders isn't to "find consensus", as consensus does not have a value in itself. There are on points for consensus, if the consensus was wrong. 1/2

Polska stanowczo potępia postępowanie przedstawicieli władz Izraela wobec zatrzymanych przez armię izraelską aktywistów Global Sumud Flotilla, wśród których znajdują się polscy obywatele. Poleciłem wezwać niezwłocznie chargé d’affaires Izraela w Warszawie celem przekazania mu wyrazów naszego oburzenia oraz żądania przeprosin za skrajnie niewłaściwe zachowanie członka izraelskiego rządu. Domagamy się natychmiastowego uwolnienia polskich obywateli i traktowania ich w sposób zgodny z międzynarodowymi standardami.
To, że MSZ odradzało polskim obywatelom wyjazd do Izraela i Palestyny, nie oznacza, że akceptujemy naruszanie ich praw i ich godności. Bezpieczeństwo naszych obywateli pozostaje najwyższym priorytetem. 
Nasi konsulowie, działając wspólnie ze służbami konsularnymi państw, których przedstawiciele również byli na pokładach przechwyconych przez siły izraelskie łodzi, są na miejscu. Oczekujemy jak najszybszego wydania zgody na spotkania z zatrzymanymi.

Ta dyskusja o wycofaniu wojsk USA z Niemiec nie jest reprezentatywna dla Waszyngtonu, ale perfekcyjnie ukazuje myślenie w środowiskach konserwatywnych. Warto, aby polscy zwolennicy "tylko USA" się przygotowali do podnoszonych w dyskusji argumentów.
