We've written to Minister Jacqui Smith to raise our concern over the hundreds of jobs at risk at Coventry University.
Making mass redundancies and forcing remaining staff onto an inferior pension scheme goes against the government’s reform agenda for higher education.
My letter to Minister Jacqui Smith urging the government to intervene to stop Coventry University's disgraceful attack on our members' jobs and conditions 👇
@Samfr@EULondonMark@barneyronay I'd be interested to know how many of them were playing sport to begin with.
Elite success tends to encourage already active people to try something new, rather than getting non-active people to do sport
Really enjoyed appearing on the 77 Club this week - it's so weird being able to talk back to a podcast...

Wolves make a loss of £64m for year ending 2023. Without making adjustments for FFP exclusion and Covid adjustments, the three year rolling loss was £86m, meaning we were well within the FFP regulations.
Wolves submit 22/23 accounts. Revenue up slightly but major ⬆️ in player costs meant #WWFC had operating loss of £100 million before player sales reduced this to loss before tax of just £67million. Alarming though that established PL club losing £184,000 a day.

@slbsn So then based on the individual club's accounting year (assuming it fits within that date). Thanks - I've strugggled to find the confirmation on that one
@slbsn@MattBarnett2477 Hi Stefan, do the PL/UEFA have specific dates, or is it based on the accounting year for the clubs (e.g. Wolves accounts are dated 31 May, not 30 June like most others)
One day, people will realise that hosting sports events is expensive. And moreso at a time when funding for councils is at an all time low. But funding them from grassroots sports is not the answer.
