Tonight in the U.S. Senate, public lands were affirmed as an essential part of America. Huge thanks to @SenatorHeinrich and @TimSheehyMT for creating the quickest and most powerful bipartisan effort we've seen to date.
Nearly five years ago, @POTUS signed my bill, the Great American Outdoors Act, into law, securing full funding for the Land and Water Conservation Fund.
This has been a tremendous victory for Idaho’s public lands and public lands across the country!
Making the Land Water Conservation Fund permanent was the biggest conservation win in over 50 years.
I was proud to work directly with President Trump to make it happen.
The Land and Water Conservation Fund is one of the nation’s most powerful tools for protecting our natural and cultural heritage—without costing taxpayers a dime.

"These land protection projects help support the military community while also preserving off-base habitats for threatened and endangered species." - says @JenMorrisNature about the bipartisan Incentivizing REPI Sales Act. https://t.co/Zs6abmcOOA
The Supreme Court decision to overturn the #ChevronDoctrine could present challenges for implementing and enforcing laws that support nature. We will continue to work at all levels of government to protect people and our planet. https://t.co/b4V8md9STA
America the Beautiful would conserve 30% of US lands & waters by 2030. But to meet this goal we need accurate data. The American Conservation and Stewardship Atlas is a critical tool towards measuring our progress. Explore more at the brand new https://t.co/T6iRNgiyp7
Great news for the 245 million acres of public land managed by the @BLMNational: A new federal rule promotes conservation and speeds up efforts to protect pristine landscapes and restore those that are most degraded. https://t.co/AoEZ6eGFty
Thrilled about this progress! @JenMorrisNature and the @nature_org team, thank you for your continued leadership to advance smart policy that benefits both people and nature. Read my piece w/ Jen on more key steps we can take here: https://t.co/hI8DyJg0re #nature#conservation
Big news! The House Foreign Affairs Committee voted today to advance the U.S. Foundation for International Conservation Act. This is an exciting step forward for protecting nature worldwide and creating a safer and more secure planet for all. 🌍https://t.co/U6YJFdjo2h
Big news! Congress just approved funding for our Washington Cascades LWCF project - a long term effort to protect checkerboard forest lands near Snoqualmie Pass. Thank you @PattyMurray@SenatorCantwell and @RepKimSchrier for your steadfast leadership.

Three years ago, #GAOA was signed into law. To celebrate, today is #GreatAmericanOutdoorsDay (free #NPS admission!). Beloved places like #RMNP & #MVNP have received millions to rebuild & restore trails campgrounds & beyond. More work ahead, but enjoy the great outdoors today!
@damonseils maintenance requirements or costs that could be passed directly to all taxpayers by way of increased property taxes, HOA fees and higher rent payments." As Mayor, how about responding to legitimate questions, instead attacking them as unsubstantiated assertions ?
@damonseils This is what is said in the petition "If the environmental reasons weren’t enough, the cost of this project is unknown. So far there has been no information or discussion of the price that taxpayers, homeowners and HOAs will pay for this project such as potential long-term 1/2
@damonseils Stating simple science and law is not fearmongering. Attacking your constituents because their views do not comport with yours is not leadership. 2/2
@damonseils Sound science says that cutting trees and putting pavement in riparian zones is counter to water quality and health. Those principles are in in Carrboro's laws and NC state laws. Everyone wants more greenways, just not next to the creek. 1/2
Thank you @MartinHeinrich and @SenThomTillis for reintroducing the Recovering America’s Wildlife Act! This would be the largest U.S. investment in wildlife conservation in decades, creating jobs and boosting NC’s economy. #RecoverWildlife https://t.co/KpXi0nC3Qc
