Unregulated social media made a fair few people - particularly kids - mentally unwell.
E-commerce and Amazon nuked the high street.
Social platforms basically killed local news.
All of it could have been managed much, much better.
Why does NOBODY tell him this?
The scale of the HS2 failure is a national scandal which should prompt a complete overhaul of the state. That it won’t is only further evidence of our malaise.
My own story of @AndyBurnhamGM being a genuinely decent man: undergoing chemotherapy at 17, I was invited to his roundtable with young people on the NHS. I couldn’t make it as I was too unwell. This letter arrived a few days later. 1/2
@PhilipProudfoot@AndyBurnhamGM Changing the electoral system without a mandate would be labelled as election fixing and overturned by another government without a mandate.
Setting a precedent of changing the electoral system when no one's voted for is genuinely threatening to democracy.
I know what you’re thinking. The biggest majority in a generation. A historic landslide, a singular mandate, zero organised opposition. How is it even possible for me to fuck this up?
Refill your popcorn. You’ll love this next part.
Why does nothing in Britain work anymore?
In this video, we explain how privatisation has left Britain’s essential public services in ruin by baking a fragmented and inefficient cake.

Sharing, without comment, British newspapers’ depictions of the only Jewish person currently leading a UK political party .
Times. Mail. Telegraph. Sun.
The US Holocaust Memorial Museum calls Israeli Prof @bartov_omer "one of the world's leading specialists on the subject of genocide." Stephen Kapos is an 88-year-old Jewish Holocaust survivor.
Yet @HausdorffMedia dismisses them both as "token Jews." How is this not antisemitic?
A group of residents bravely fought against noise from a
... Children's playground.
The council had to demolish it, and give £130,000 to two complainants.
At the taxpayers expense.
31% of children don't have a playground close to them.
Do normal countries operate this way?
"Everything is basically fine" as 19 years of stagnant real wages/productivity growth is about to collide with an inflationary supply shock/major recession in the midst of political chaos overseen by weak, directionless, inept technocrats who promised "CHANGE".
The truth is that being an MP is a really shitty job. You don’t have any actual power, you have more as a local councillor. Most of the time you don’t even know what you’re voting on. You hear the bell and the whips herd you into a lobby like cattle. Might as well be plastered
@CurtisDaly_@Stsantek If you’ve finished your work at 5 but need to wait 2-5 hours to walk though a room just to cast a vote you’ve already decided on, do you really need to be stone cold sober to do that?
I don’t want my surgeon having a beer during work, but I couldn’t give a fuck if my mp does
@Stsantek@flying_rodent I’m absolutely fine if an MP gets shitfaced after work, I don’t care if it’s in their office the bars in parliament or outside parliament.
Also you can have 2 beers and still smell of beer, I don’t think she mentioned people getting shitfaced
@SorchaEastwood Sorry but you worked jobs where it’d be a health and safety violation to have a drink, rightly or wrongly. MP’s have an office job and have to wait hours before walking through a room for a vote to be taken.
