@AndrewKSchlecht Cannot believe the Stephen A Smith take that TJ should have been on during the last quarter. Pacers made the run to within 2 in the 4th quarter without him and from there it was outstanding offence and defence that won it. TJ would not have changed the result.

@Timodc @jaselzer Analysis of the Iowa poll put a lot of emphasis on the six week abortion ban in the state. But perhaps the Harris commitment to home care within Medicare might also be a factor in why woman over 65 are planning to vote 2-1 in favour of her. A real sleeper.

@andrewprobyn 622 deaths in the UK in the past 7 days. After falling to low levels in April, cases are now approx 25,000 a day. Deaths after averaging less than 10 a day in May have steadily risen. On a prorated basis to Aus it translates to 35 Covid deaths a day. Problematic.

@davidaxelrod I read about your daughter and your reflections on block funding of disability services. I agree quality and not the size of facility is what matters. And in Oz we now have the NDIS with funding tied to the individuals needs. Not perfect but a vast improvement.

The Facebook ban on news coverage in Australia is fertile ground for misinformation and conspiracies. Rather than accessing ⁦@ThomasLFriedman⁩ through FB the first item on my NYT FB feed was Candace Owens madness. No news is bad news. FB has civil responsibilities.

@mjrowland68 Just checked the NYT FB page and the first item was a post from Candace Owens a conspiracy theorist making false claims about the Capitol attack. A perfect example of how it will make Australians more vulnerable to malicious and damaging misinformation. No news-bad news.

Hi ⁦@TVietor08⁩ as a result of the Facebook ban on news in Australia the first item that appears on NYT page is from conspiracy theorist Candace Owens and her false claims about the Capitol attack. So destructive at every level.

@TVietor08 @IlhanMN Facebook has closed down sharing of news stories in Australia in what is a lose/lose for all parties. It restricts access for users to credible source while leaving conspiracy theories untouched. It undermines the platform and ultimately makes FB less relevant. No news-bad news.

@MOConnor_NBA Not wrong but to some extent is it just that he is playing so badly. Making really poor decisions on when to drive and when to shoot. Surely has to get better.

@MOConnor_NBA This team is better than 2017-18. The big improvement is Harris with Green and Curry, fair replacements for Covington and Redick, but it will not be personnel alone but form and conditioning, injuries and ultimately chemistry that will determine how far the Sixers can go.

@NateSilver538 I live in a country that locked down a city of >5m (Melbourne) for more than 100 days after a max test positivity rate of less than 4%. The result is zero cases and deaths for 20 days. Closing schools but not bars and restaurants is just crazy.

@jonfavs Republican governors that backed Trump on mask skepticism and rallies are now being met with disbelief and resistance as they try and increase Covid compliance in the face of the jump in deaths. Tragically, you reap what you sow.

However, get it right, in the end it was decisive, the two last 2 flips Georgia/Arizona were closer, but Wisky 20k (.6%)and Penn at 65k (1%) and Michigan at 147k were solid.

Stan Grant @abcnews today claimed Covid was a 4th order issue in Pew research of US voters. True but misleading-virus is of major concern to 55% of voters but top 3 are all Covid adjacent. Economy-74%, health care-65% and Supreme Court-63%. Poll also predated latest surge.

@jonfavs @realDonaldTrump closing message is irrelevant when COVID daily cases for the fist time moved above 80k on Friday almost doubling the 41k on September 3. Everything else pales into insignificance.
