🚨BREAKING: Des Moines Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Ian Andre Roberts was arrested by ICE today-per @BillMelugin_

Roberts is an undocumented immigrant from Guyana and an active fugitive with a deportation order issued in May 2024.

ICE says Roberts fled from agents in his car before abandoning it and was later found hiding in a brushy area with the help of a police K9. A loaded gun, a hunting knife, and $3,000 in cash were reportedly found in his vehicle.

Roberts was also arrested on a weapons-related charge in 2020, though the outcome of that case remains unclear.

It’s deeply concerning that the Department of Education failed to run a basic background check before hiring him. How many other illegals with potentially questionable histories are working in public schools, potentially putting our children at risk?

Before working at DMPS, Roberts was a special education teacher and principal in New York, Baltimore City and Washington, DC, and worked as a Network Superintendent of Schools in St. Louis, MO, and Millcreek Township School District in Pennsylvania.
