When historians look back on U.K. politics they’ll struggle to explain why Reform, which never had more than 8 MPs, was treated as though it was a government in waiting.
Especially given that it had a deeply unpopular leader and acted like it was a front for a crime syndicate.
Tim Stanley has this right - climate denial should be a crime, the lack of action on the issue ultimately costs lives - 100k expected deaths across Europe this summer. And of course many more people badly affected. Our lives are impacted by the climate crisis - it’s not debate we should allow - is it or is it not man made? what about China? and all the other ‘whataboutery’.
Climate change kills, climate denial is its accomplice.
HOLY SHIT 🇩🇪🚨
A woman in Germany says “Free Palestine.” Police swarm, cover her mouth, drag her down like a beast
That slogan is now banned in Germany because it’s considered antisemitic
If you say it, the state silences you by force
So in the MAGA brain:
Kidnapping a foreign leader 🇻🇪 who is NOT a war criminal from his own country = GOOD
Arresting a foreign leader 🇮🇱 who IS a war criminal while he’s inside your country = BAD
Have I got that right?
🇺🇸 Marco: "It’s illegal to bomb, attack, and sink ships. That’s what the Nazis did."
🇮🇷 Araghchi: "The US and Israel have bombed 600 schools and killed over 1,000 students in last 6 months. Even the Nazis never did that." 🔥
Abbas Araghchi at Best 🔥 Peak Hypocrisy Exposed by him. 👏
Retired 4-Star Navy Admiral and former Navy SEAL William McRaven on Donald Trump: "Through your actions, you have embarrassed us in the eyes of our children, humiliated us on the world stage and, worst of all, divided us as a nation."
RETWEET if you stand with Admiral McRaven!
For those still struggling to understand:
If the UK allows U.S. forces to launch strikes on Iran from British bases, don't be surprised if Britain is viewed as a participant in the conflict, thus a legal legitimate target.
Wars have consequences. Decisions to join them have consequences too.
This is NOT OUR WAR.
We live on a planet where the country that overthrew Iran's democracy in 1953 is "concerned about Iranian authoritarianism."
Where the country that funded Saddam Hussein's chemical weapons program in the 1980s launched a war in 2003 to remove Saddam Hussein for having chemical weapons.
Where the country that armed, trained, and created the conditions for the Taliban spent twenty years fighting the Taliban.
Where the country that sanctioned Iraq through the 1990s, killing an estimated 500,000 children through the denial of medicine and food, a number Madeleine Albright called "worth it" on national television, explained that it was doing so because it cared about the Iraqi people.
I am not asking you to hate America.
I am asking you to read the sentences above without looking away, and then tell me, with a straight face, that the question is whether to believe them.
🇺🇸Pete Hegseth: "We didn't start this war. Iran started this war 47 years ago. We didn't start it. They did."
🇮🇷Abbas Araghchi 🔥: "Shut up. How many missiles have we fired on US soil in those 47 years? Zero 💪
How many of your leaders were killed or injured by Iran? Zero💪
The war started when you started bombing us." 🔥
Araghchi is a strategic genius 👏
Kuwait is finished, as Iran continues to destroy the infrastructure that sustains the country. The economy is in decline and even its massive sovereign wealth fund can’t save it
Let the Empire that was 🇺🇸 Crash & Burn 🔥 They have threatened Canada, Greenland, Cuba, Venezuela and insulted every ally and trade partner on the planet. Now they are out there committing war crimes again and been caught interfering in other democratic & sovereign nations
A months-long Sky News investigation into the US double-tap strike on a Minab girls' school found the Pentagon had tracked the site by satellite since 1987 and could still count children's shadows in the courtyard before firing anyway.
What the evidence shows:
Three Tomahawk missiles fired from the USS Spruance, 716 kilometers away in the Arabian Sea, hit the Shajareh Tayyebeh Elementary School in Minab on Feb 28, the opening day of the US-Israeli war on Iran. Witnesses described a second strike hitting the exact spot where a teacher had moved surviving students for shelter, killing nearly everyone who had taken cover there. A third strike followed on the same site. Death tolls range from 156 to over 170, most of them girls aged seven to twelve. The school had been walled off from the adjacent IRGC naval base since at least 2015, had its own website, and was geolocatable through open-source materials any analyst could have pulled in minutes.
Built to fail:
The Pentagon's own machinery for preventing exactly this outcome had already been dismantled. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth slashed the Civilian Protection Center of Excellence workforce by roughly 90 percent and cut CENTCOM's civilian casualty assessment team from ten people to one, months before the war started. A May Pentagon Inspector General report found the office had become a shell on paper with no budget, no mandate, no real mission. A functioning warning system was defunded on purpose, then blamed for not warning anyone.
Accountability buried:
Four months on, CENTCOM's commander told reporters the investigation was near complete, yet nothing has been released. Asked in June whether anyone would face consequences, Trump called it a strange question, adding that mistakes are made and war is nasty. The mistake was choosing not to fund the office that exists to catch mistakes like this one.
My take: A military that surveilled a schoolyard for four decades didn't fail to see the children, it decided in advance that seeing them wouldn't change the targeting. Nobody in this chain lacked information.
Walter Cronkite: After liberating execution camps… Germans (who cried) they didn’t know…were as as guilty as Nazis…because they applauded when Hitler shut down (media) and said, ‘We don’t need to know. We trust our government...’
It’s our duty to know.
Abbas araghchi is cooking Marco Rubio in his own Style 👏
🇺🇸Rubio: "Iran has money. But instead of fixing the country, they send it to Hezbollah and Hamas. Every dollar from oil or sanctions relief."
🇮🇷Araghchi: "And the US? Rich too. But every extra dollar goes to Israel and allies for war. Spend it on Americans instead."🔥🤣
That was very brutal 👏
