Congrats to Mansfield Alum Dean O'Connor (Class of '86) on leading the Feehan basketball team to a state title yesterday! Deano excelled in football & basketball for the Hornets & was Team MVP and a Hall of Famer in Football. He also coached football/basketball at Mansfield!
The Shamrocks (@FeehanAthletics) knocked off the No. 3 team in the state earlier this postseason, then the No. 2 school in the semis.
Tonight, they toppled the No. 1 seed.

I asked Maye last week his advice to young athletes: “Play as many sports as you can. I can’t tell you how much baseball and basketball has helped me in playing quarterback.”
Funny… He settled on QB (unlike his brothers) because he was the smallest of the three. (He’s 6’4’’!)
"Before I got in the ring, I’d won [the fight] out here on the road...
The real fight is won or lost somewhere far away from witnesses, behind the lines, in the gym and out here on the road long before I dance under those lights.”

I keep coming back to this question:
Are you willing to sprint when the distance is unknown?
In 2021, Georgia Tech strength coach Lewis Caralla delivered this epic speech to the football team.
If it doesn’t light a fire under you, check your pulse…
He starts with a series of brutal truths:
• Winning isn’t loyal to you
• Winning doesn’t care about you
• Winning doesn’t care how sore you are
• Winning doesn’t care how hard you work
• Winning doesn’t care how much sleep you’ve had
But then comes the line that hit me:
Are you willing to sprint when the distance is unknown?
That mindset is rare.
It demands two things:
1. An unshakable belief in yourself
2. A deep conviction in the mission
If you have one without the other, you won’t last.
You need both.
From what I’ve seen, the greatest things in life are built by people willing to sprint when they can’t see the finish line:
The sprint to support loved ones when they need you most.
The sprint to create something meaningful.
The sprint to serve others and leave a lasting mark.
Your task: Identify those rare pursuits worth sprinting for when the finish line is hidden.
That, to me, is what winning really is.
"And why chase winning? Because the only thing that's guaranteed in life if you don't chase it is losing."
There's an old African proverb:
Every morning, a gazelle wakes up knowing it must run faster than the lion, or it will die.
Every morning, a lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest gazelle, or it will starve.
It doesn't matter if you're the lion or the gazelle.
When the sun comes up, you'd better be running.
Life doesn't reward those who sit idle. Whether you're chasing a dream or fighting to survive, motion is non-negotiable.
Stop waiting for perfect conditions. Stop waiting for permission. The sun is up. Start running.

Pete Carroll revolutionized how college football programs conduct practice.
During his tenure at USC, he blared crowd noise during practices, allowed fans in the stands, and even incorporated TV timeouts.
His motto: “The best players don’t always win; the players who play the best do.”
He placed immense emphasis on having the best practices, striving to practice better than anyone ever has.
Send Pete Carroll to the College Football Hall of Fame! ✌️
If you are a business in the Mansfield community & you are getting called for sponsorships, it is a scam. We NEVER have 3rd parties seek donations for athletics. Please report their contact info to me so we can share with authorities. (469) area code is TX and very suspicious.
Mansfield Hornet Football is back for the 2025 season just 10 weeks from tonight as they host the Bridgewater-Raynham Trojans on Alumni Field at 7:00 pm! Until then, enjoy summer and we'll see you in September!
You’d want to ask for a “neutral appraisal” from a reputable company. We have two we suggest for people to use. This is not a great suggestion if you’re a broker; It’s a great suggestion for homeowners to educate themselves and get a feel for what the high to low number should be and then be in a position of strength when interviewing brokers. Unfortunately there are brokers out there who brag about selling quick. That usually means underpriced. There also the alternative which is when sellers get greedy and it sits. This suggestion tries to find a middle ground early.
