I don't care what anyone says, I believe we can end rough sleeping in Britain.
Today is World Homeless Day, and I don't think anyone in this country should be sleeping rough on our streets. Certainly not tonight.
That's why one of the first commitments I made as Prime Minister was to end rough sleeping. Not manage it. Not reduce it. End it.
And I'm putting over £400 million behind a national drive to get everyone in for Christmas.
And to put my own money where my mouth is, I'm making my latest salary donation from my PM salary to The Passage in Victoria, an amazing charity I visited on my very first day in Downing Street.
All this will help make sure that every person sleeping rough is offered a route off the street and a safe place to stay because, in one of the wealthiest countries in the world, people should not be left to sleep outside with nowhere to turn.
This isn't the finish line. We'll keep building the homes, creating the jobs, and reforming the services to stop people reaching crisis point in the first place.
But today, I wanted to say this: we should never accept rough sleeping as normal. Not in Britain, not in 2026, and not while I'm Prime Minister.
Brother, your childhood fantasy of Zionism may be what they taught you in Hebrew school -- I used to teach the same stuff -- but it certainly is not reality.
Zionism is not the detached theory of some dreamer from 100 years ago, it is the brutal reality forced on Palestinians for those 100 years.
Letting go of the stories that we tell ourselves can be really difficult. Believe me, I know. But it has to be done.
Zionism is a form of racism.
Anti-Zionism is a form of anti-racism, not antisemitism.
@HuntmanJamie@MichaelLCrick That's just silly. For those of us who use trains, this is an important issue. I accidently fell into the trap a week or so ago and nearly ended up unable to get home when delays interrupted my 'split' tickets.
For decades, Navi Pillay has been a champion of international law and human rights, and a steadfast, independent voice of justice amidst some of the most historic international legal cases of our time.
I warmly congratulate her on being awarded the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize.
As Attorney General, we stand firmly behind the International Criminal Court and its vital work in holding perpetrators of international crimes to account.
I disagree with the sanctions on the Court. I will continue to protect international law and defend its independence.
My favourite @MoneyBox email today from Neil
"wildlife pictures on notes would give the ideal opportunity to release a 25 pounder with a picture of a Dartmoor pony".
The UK stands with the International Criminal Court and we stand united with our partners in strongly disagreeing with sanctions imposed on the Court.
The ICC must be permitted to continue its critical work holding perpetrators of the most horrific international crimes to account.
Did apartheid South Africa have a right to exist?
Did Rhodesia have a right to exist?
Did the Soviet Union have a right to exist?
Did Nazi Germany have a right to exist?
States don't have rights, Nick. People have rights.
And critically they have the same universal rights. Which is exactly why apartheid Israel has no right to exist.
Well, this is off to a great start… No @KatieZacharia — The abortion pill mifepristone is a synthetic steroid developed in France in the 1980s and does not contain the same chemicals as Zyklon B used in Nazi camps.
Maybe Google it next time?
I had one conversation with Navi Pillay.
She asked me how she could frame her criticism of Israel without inadvertently triggering anti-Semitism.
It was a frank and honest conversation, and left no doubt that she is the stuff of greatness.
As Trump flouts and undermines international law, the Nobel Peace Prize goes to a woman who has devoted her life to upholding international law, including regarding Israel's genocide in Gaza, South African human rights lawyer Navi Pillay. https://t.co/sfDJ1SWlH9
BREAKING: The United States has formally SANCTIONED the International Criminal Court this morning.
Put bluntly, this is being done for the sake of Israel and to protect the Trump Administration from accountability for their war crimes in the Iran War.
This is outrageous.
Israel seems to be handling this Nobel Peace Prize announcement with about as much sobriety and stability as one has come to expect from this wretched, bloodthirsty rogue nation.
Among the top 3 existential threats to humanity is Israel's large stockpile of nuclear weapons.
