Weโre looking for postdocs! Come join our team in the beautiful Rocky Mtns. We have new translational grants on molecular mechanisms of stress in neuropsychiatry in humans and mice. Come be part of an inclusive and engaging team.
Had an absolutely surreal day yesterday, completing my public and private defense and earning my PhD. Incredibly grateful to all of you who helped me on this journey and special thanks to @sthom003 for his mentorship. Celebrated in nautical fashion with a concert on a pirate boat
@BradAlgerLab @sthom003 Thank you so much Dr. Alger, it means a lot coming from you! Your vision for training scientists is felt and lives on through the Proseminar course, and it is truly the heart and soul of our PIN curriculum. Without a doubt one of the most important components of my training!
TODAY: PIN MD/PhD candidate Anthony Cole (@Tony_B_Cole) will be presenting his thesis work on hippocampal contributions to stress at his public defense! Tune in via Zoom at 1pm!
@ScienceStace Haha I wasn't sure if you would appreciate a tag, but it must be said that Jensen brought the house down with his rendition of Tennessee Whiskey!
I cannot say enough good things about my time at #Stress2022
Grateful to receive a travel award and poster honorable mention, but even more thrilled to have spent time with such a kind and welcoming group of brilliant researchers. I leave feeling inspired and newly energized!
Happy to finally share this work with the world! Many thanks to @sthom003 @TheBaleLab @kristenium for their help and support, and labmate @Andreas_B_Wulff for his invaluable comments during our drafting. Feel free to comment or message me to chat about what we've accomplished

TODAY: PIN PhD candidate Andreas Wulff (@Andreas_B_Wulff) will present his thesis proposal on serotonergic signaling mechanisms underlying psilocybin's antidepressant actions! Tune in via Zoom at 2pm!
Next up in our #PINStudentSpotlight series is Andreas Wulff (@Andreas_B_Wulff), a fifth-year student working with @sthom003 on the antidepressant mechanisms of serotonergic psychedelics. Learn more about Andreas below! ๐
Does anyone know of a good mouse brain atlas specifically for female mice? I've searched previously to no avail and the question came up again today during my SfN poster session. Appreciate any leads!
Excited to present new data for #SfN21 but hit nothing but error screens during my poster session. On the plus side, the error codes generated seem to be sequential, so we can track errors over time with each page reload. Looking to be around 400/minute at the moment!
Thank you to @sthom003 for his mentorship and support, @LeGatesLab @Andreas_B_Wulff for patch clamp wizardry, @TheBaleLab@DocKatiePhd @kristenium for their neuroendocrine expertise and help with CORT RIA, and my colleagues at UMSOM for creating a wonderful training environment!
Following the lead of others, I'd like to tweet some highlights from my poster to share our work in spite of the technical difficulties. My project seeks to identify brain regions at the interface of the neuroendocrine stress response and major depression.
This data came together recently and continues to be refined, but we are excited at the results so far. Please feel free to reach me on here or at Neuroscience 2021 poster P596.03 to discuss!
