The move still baffles me. @luka7doncic and @jalenbrunson1 are SUPERSTARS. They had both in the building and willingly let both go. I guess that’s what happens when @mcuban was more focused on campaigning for Kamala Harris than running the Mavs
I feel for Cuban. He did everything right out of love for the Mavs and the fans. Sells the team after losing money every season, and in a year, the GM torches it all.
Beautifully written, Gary. I lost my mother when I was in college so I resonate with a lot of what you said. I’d like to think they are in a better place celebrating our wins and rooting for us.
My dad died 11 years ago. I went through my entire 20s without having my dad. Here is my perspective on the importance a father has on a young male’s life:
1. Going through my last teenage year and all of my 20s without my dad forced me to grow up quickly and rely on myself. There was nobody to call to bail me out of a situation when things were not going my way. Self reliance was established very quickly. Seeing my friends around me call their dad for money or asking them for help to get an apartment or credit card was not something that was an option for me. I’m thankful now that I developed this mindset young.
2. As I was building my career, there was no father to call and celebrate my wins or advances with. Many times I would wish that I could call my dad and tell him good news and make him proud, but I could not. I wanted to be able to do nice things for him and show him the man that I grew into.
3. Realizing that the person I am today is someone that my dad never knew or got to meet. The last version of myself that my dad knew was a 19 year old kid with no idea about the world. I often wish that he was able to know the person I am now instead.
4. I better understand who he was now that I’m older. As a kid would get frustrated with him, but now that I understand the world, I realize he did the best he could. I wish I was able to tell him that.
The main thing that my experience has shown me is how important fathers are for everyone, but especially young males. If you are lucky enough to have your dad in your life still, then let them know how thankful you are for them and definitely appreciate your experiences with them.
I am still thankful for the experience I had because there is a lot of value from relying on yourself and being your own supporter, but these are just thoughts I’ve collected the last decade through my own life experiences. If you read this far, I hope you found this to be interesting 🙏💚
@LadeBackk@ChappieNuts The US is the largest importer of foreign goods in the world. This will pain them more than it will pain us. It is a gamble but they will come to the table quicker than we think imo
Cont… Trust me on this. You can tell the admiration they have for you as a man, as a father and as a colleague. Those are people that love and respect you and its best to stay as close to them as you can. It will make you happy. Dont get caught up on $$$ and networks
@danorlovsky7 1st off Madden is awesome. 2nd I want to bring attention to the responses from your colleagues. Rutledge wiping tears to Greeny highlighting it this morning and fighting back tears… I know business is business but try to stay as close to people that genuinely care
My favorite thing is Mets fans excitement. Unfortunately they won't make the playoffs because they are a sorry franchise and have a bottom 5 rotation. Happy Opening day
