We are all made of the same molecules. I am grateful to be a Chemistry teacher and lifelong learner on unceded Coast Salish Traditional Territory. She / Her.
I am looking for #singlepointrubric examples to share with my staff to help develop assessment strategies that emphasize proficiency, while allowing for further development, as well demonstrating extensions. Can you help me specifically with #SCIENCE examples? @NVSD44
Watch a teacher make roughly ~1,000 instructional decisions in about 45 seconds. Only a few of them are about the lesson but the lesson depends on ALL of them. This is one of the hardest things to explain about teaching to people who have never taught.
Over the past 154 years, we have discovered elements and expanded the periodic table from Dmitri Mendeleev's first design.
There's even a version that includes haiku—check it out on #WorldPoetryDay: https://t.co/mbyB2kL8zZ
It’s that time of year! Trick or treat! 🎃 All right, I know it’s awkward…but in semester system, we are practising #mole calculations in #chemistry 11 to see if we can catch the errors in provided solutions. @NVSD44 @HandsworthHSS
@KatyDornbos@Chemistry_IB Online periodic table? May I please ask for the link? I also need to spend more research time to delve into these topics better.
@Miss_Nicholson_ Great post! Thank you for that. 👋🏼 I immediately got up to search for mine. I had put it in an odd place on the last day of work two weeks ago. I would have panicked in the morning. 🙏🏼
@GiftedTawk Love my job 💕(most of the time!) despite it being 3 - if not 4- times the amount of work it was when I started in the 90s. And this is NOT because I am old. The job is so much more demanding.
You're about to hear a lot about #NuclearFusion. I've followed the field for years & can offer context. Top line:
- NIF's "breakeven" does not generate more power than it consumes
- NIF is not a model for a commercial fusion reactor
- This news is a big deal all the same. 1/n
This is amazing! Just learning about the alleles for Blood Types in Science 10. We will definitely talk about in class tomorrow! New blood by @ubcscience https://t.co/d62CSpex7Y
@AMcMahonEd I absolutely love that you put the phonetic spelling on the board! It Empowers people (including teachers and students ) to feel confident to speak about complicated things when they know how to pronounce the words!!!! ❤️
We don’t eat iron nails, or chunks of explosive sodium metal, or copper pennies. We consume iron ions, sodium ions, and copper ions.
I think I want to highlight this difference as a phenomenon for atoms and the periodic table.
