ticketing is really really hard as most of the money is in the top of the market
and big corporations (live nation, aeg) offer buyouts to venues and snap up promoters and festivals to maintain oligopoly
curious to see if partiful raise capital for these buyouts at some point
An age old question has finally been answered: How will Partiful make money?
The Partiful team has always been fiercely protective of users. Everything added to the platform has to improve the UX
Ticketing will expand the TAM of events on Partiful + give hosts better tools 🪩

almost every cultural object you think has organically gone viral

FIFA just sold football’s history to the highest bidder.
The removal of analytic data on @FBref is a calculated heist of public knowledge to protect a 2026 World Cup gambling monopoly.

madonna does not get enough credit for maverick records
deftones, the prodigy, bad brains, alanis morissette, candlebox, muse is a crazy roster for an artist label
@EzraMoGee@blakeir i think nearly everyone of these products has courted a tech / terminally online / twitter audience
rather than a music lover audience
and by doing so have imbued their product with negative status instead of the positive status they are hoping to create
@shanvasion@pridesai i ultimately agree in some ways though that nostalgia and referencing the past are much more common amongst the younger generation than it ever has been before
i think both points can co-exist. there are new sounds entering the mainstream, but nostalgia is also real
@Lei_Takanashi you might already know this but this subway station is used extensively for movie shoots and TV shows...most of the time when you see a NYC subway shot it's here
