It is so interesting who is considered a patient whose testimony about their own body can be trusted.
Viagra is just prescribed, no soul-searching required.
But menopausal women are fobbed off with CBT, and not simply given the medication that works.

Here's a running thread of all the things the current Prime Minister cannot recall whilst under oath at the Covid Inquiry.
Some more understandable than others I'd humbly suggest.

The expectation for nurses to be resilient and stoic in challenging circumstances can be ‘toxic’, new guidance on psychological safety suggests.
Do you feel you can openly talk about stress at work?

an important thing missing from our current 90s nostalgia is that every woman and girl spent the 90s coated in a thin sheen of roll-on body glitter. you're not having the full 90s experience until you find sparkles under your boobs and you're sticky enough to pick up lint.
I have my ASD assessment today and have been told that since I don't have an informant who knew me when I was young then I might not be able to be diagnosed, that doesn't sound right to me 🤔
Quick PSA for everyone
Trans people don’t owe you ‘passing’ and the implication that they should aim for it is at its root misogynistic and transphobic.
Policing people’s gender expression based on what you deem as acceptable levels of masculinity and femininity only leads
The stereotype that trauma survivors are "snowflakes" marinating in "victim mentality" was imagined by someone who never had meaningful contact w/ trauma survivors.
Survivors in recovery are fire & ice & steel & silk & depth-- but not everyone gets to see it. For good reason.
I am always gonna be the woman encouraging other women to use their Dr titles and put their hard-earned letters after their name. I don’t give a shit if you put it on socials or your Matalan card, it’s yours, you earned it, you use it. ESPECIALLY if you’re working class.
Wouldn’t X/Twitter be a better place if an adaptation of this Arab proverb was followed…
The content people post should have three gatekeepers:

I think most doctors would stop talking nonsense if they just spent all day in our shoes instead of all day thinking they understand. It’s worth a try at least.
Is aging accelerating in some folks? Without a doubt.
It’s the first thing I have noticed. I study aging (mostly cognitive aging but I’ve also dabbled in cardiovascular, sensory & vocal aging).
If you didn’t pick up on the sensory changes & impaired communication such as coarseness & variability in others’ voices, you may have hearing loss or tinnitus yourself (conditions that also correspond with aging & Covid).
You may also be distracted by their general slowness or the memory encoding, retention & retrieval problems. Connecting dots for others has become a full-time job.
Vestibular functioning & mobility also decline with age-related changes in cognitive-motor skills. This means more frequent falls and perhaps earlier onset of having your first bad fall.
I’m not going to discuss physical attributes other than to say some have self-claimed obvious signs whereas I personally feel acquiring this level of evidence is unnecessary. It’s akin to a phrase I heard recently c/o @Stanzupforit . In short, no one needs ‘to be kicked while they’re drowning.’
