3300 patients waited more than 12 hours in A&E in Devon in February, shocking new figures have revealed. The statistics, from NHS England, show the number of people who waited before being admitted, transferred or discharged. @TorbaySDevonNHS@NHSDevon#ToriesDestroyingOurNHS
The Government has announced plans for mandatory digital ID cards – forcing everyone to hand over private data just to go about their daily lives.
This is the wrong direction for our country, and it will hit communities like ours in Torbay especially hard.

Save Paignton’s Ambulance Station!
This vital station, home to 4emergency ambulances, faces closure in September—with no plans for relocation. Losing it means longer response times and risks community safety.

Just over 9 months ago, @SteveDarlingMP became Torbay’s MP after 9 years of Conservative leadership. Today, in our 9-month/9-year series, we’re spotlighting Early Day Motions—key tools MPs use to highlight issues and advocate for change.
It’s been 9 months since Steve Darling was elected as Torbay’s MP, following 9 years under a Conservative MP. This week, we’re comparing their records. First up: written parliamentary questions—an essential tool for holding the gvt to account, raise awareness, and driving change.
Even the local Conservatives don’t want to vote Conservative!
Spotted: The Torbay Tories themselves encouraging people to back Reform UK. When even your own team is looking elsewhere, you know things have gone badly wrong.
Today I pressed the Prime Minister to rule out cuts to disability benefits for those who simply cannot work. Worryingly, he chose not to answer.
Disabled people and those who care for them deserve our support and they deserve clarity from this government.
Lib Dem leadership on Torbay Council are seeking answers from local Conservatives regarding one of their elected councillors party membership status.

@SteveDarlingMP The Conservatives who advocated the wrecking amendment absolutely knew this — yet still pushed the amendment, playing political games. It’s cynical and shameful.
@SteveDarlingMP For those seeking further clarity on the recent vote: Steve Darling MP and his Liberal Democrat colleagues abstained on a Conservative “wrecking amendment” that would have ended crucial child protection measures.
@SteveDarlingMP While the amendment included rhetoric about a new inquiry, parliamentary protocol means it wouldn’t have led to one. In fact, it would have ended the legislation completely and the measures designed to protect vulnerable children contained within it.
We’re really pleased that @SteveDarlingMP, with support from @SarahGibsonLD and @munirawilson, has put forward an amendment to the Employment Rights Bill which would introduce an entitlement to paid employment leave for kinship carers – a key #ValueOurLove campaign call! 💛
I am demanding a fair share of new SEND funding for Torbay schools!
Local schools are struggling to provide the support needed by children with special educational needs and disabilities. We're calling on the Government to ensure Torbay receives its fair slice of the £740 million funding announced. Our children deserve the best possible education!

It is one of the greatest honors of my life to have been elected as Torbay's MP.
Thank you.
Whether you voted for me or not, I will work tirelessly over the next 5 years for you and everyone across our Bay.
As your MP, Torbay will be at the heart of all I do.
We're finally getting to choose a new MP.
Villages and towns across Somerton and Frome have been taken for granted by the Conservative party for too long.
I will fight for a fair deal for all our communities and be the hard working local MP people here deserve.
‘As leader of Torbay Council through the pandemic I saw first hand the incredible sacrifices that many across Torbay made, especially our dedicated volunteers and key workers. It would be a disgrace if our MP voted against this motion.’ @cllrsdarling
Glad this is still getting traction. We discussed it on @RestIsPolitics and it had a huge response. As Johnson and his cronies seem to shape a new lying narrative about a sordid plot against him as victim, listen to Philippa Bateman. And never forget the lies told and damage done
A monumental day begins for bereaved families as the Covid Enquiry opens. Wishing Baroness Hallett well 🙏🏼
Covid -
Johnson and Sunak partied (Sunak received a Police fine), gave £ BILLIONS to Michelle Mone et al through PPE VIP lane & scoffed at us all
