This summer my kids & I are helping a local community in Claremont, Jamaica. This is a regular trip for our church, but is especially important Hurricane Melissa this past season. We would appreciate your prayers, but would love your financial support.

Organizations think in silos.
Attackers don't. They have no scope restrictions, stakeholder buyin restrictions, "someone else's role" restrictions, red tape, beauocracy, operational friction... ... ...
If Tom Cruise had any sense of humor, he’d do a cameo on “Reacher” as a con man who has been going around pretending to be Reacher, and then when they meet he’s like “Whoa, you really are huge, it was wild of me to pretend I’m you.”
Yikes, half of all generative AI projects will overrun budgeted costs and get abandoned?
Oh, that's the same failure rate of most *any* software project for the past few decades?
Big IT programs have always had a mixed record!

@reprise_99 Ran this for grins, had a mini heart attack when two things came back, but it was just some Japanese colleagues naming in their native language
PICARD: Data, shields up
DATA: Brilliant! Shields can reduce damage we sustain. Not immunity. Not hubris. Just prudence. It's not precaution—it's strategy.
[camera shakes]
WORF: HULL BREACHES ON NINE DECKS
DATA: Here's what happened: you told me to raise shields, and I didn't
Early career people leaders often think people need to be managed.
People dont need to be managed. They need to be motivated.
If you have direct reports and think they need to be managed, I have news for you: you are the problem :p
You know when you build something and you're super hyped about it?
Then you speak to someone who actually knows what they're talking about... and you find out your SPF records are missing, your DMARC isn't set up properly, and your DKIM entries are fighting each other?
That was me last week.
I built an entire website using my words, copy and paste, screen shots and AI. It looks the part and is mostly functional. I enjoyed the process.
AI allowed me to make the thing, but it does not know what I do not know.
And this is why both my job and your job are safe.
In my world right now, everyone is wondering whether they should micro dose tirzepatide, if seed oils are killing them, how to eliminate microplastics, or how much methylene blue is too much.
Meanwhile they haven't drunk enough water, they slept for 4 hours, haven't been outside since Thursday last week, their resting heart rate is 83, and they're on their 8th coffee of the day.
The basics aren't sexy.
So nobody's selling them.
So nobody's learning them.
So nobody's actually fucking doing them.
Which is fantastic news for both of us.
You'll keep getting hired because people will keep building functional-looking systems with broken infrastructure underneath.
I'll keep getting hired because people will keep researching the latest peptide to help them when they actually just need to drink enough water.
AI can build me a website but it can't build me a bedtime.
Until that changes, we're both safe.
