A pump failure at Virginia Key's 1950s-era sewage plant caused about 35,000 gallons of treated waste to flow into the lagoon near the old Jimbo's Shrimp Shack over the weekend. Miami-Dade initially blamed a power outage. FPL says the problem happened at the plant.
