The phasing out of DVDs / rise of streaming culture is robbing us of all of the behind the scenes and bloopers footage. These things inspired A LOT of us to go into the arts and pursue working in the entertainment industry in any capacity.
Me, ordering a drink to go even though I paid for parking bc seats were full, not wanting to sit in a newly opened seat bc I ordered my drink to go:
Katie on the other end of the phone: that’s so stupid go sit down go sit down go sit down that’s literally so dumb no one cares
watching good cinema is supposed to make u an empathetic person not a glorified pretentious jerk, if your consumption of good art doesn't make you a person who understands people and the world better it's pointless
It's probably not a great sign that now we look at movies about the depressing, banal evil at the heart of white collars jobs in the imperial core and we think, "what are they complaining about? They have a house"
nobody will remember:
- your salary
- how “busy you were”
- how many hours you worked
people will remember:
- christopher plummer calling julie andrews "captain" in the sound of music (1965)
a friend made the suggestion to start a note in our phone called “good things are always happening to me” and to purposefully find something to add to it every day.
absolute game changer.
