Today we remember Hansa Mehta, born #OnThisDay in 1897, who was a feminist leader, activist and diplomat from India.

She succeeded in changing “All men are born free and equal” in Article 1 of Universal Declaration of Human Rights to,

“All human beings are born free and equal"
