“I love it. I think it’s perfect. It needs some work, but that’ll be fun for us to do together.”

@NomadicShield Bucky walked close to Steve as the realtor showed them around the house. He could definitely see the two of them living there.

“This isn’t so bad.”

He said quietly to Steve, glancing around as the realtor showed them the master bedroom.

@NomadicShield Bucky nodded and followed the realtor toward the house, giving Steve an excited little smile as they stepped inside.

@NomadicShield Bucky nodded, extending his hand to the realtor.

“Yeah, that’s me. This is my.. boyfriend, Steve.”

He said in a sheepish tone, hoping Steve would be okay with his usage of the word “boyfriend”. They hadn’t really talked about what this thing between them was yet.

@NomadicShield Bucky’s cheeks flushed a soft shade of pink, and he nodded happily.

“I really can’t wait.”

@NomadicShield Bucky was grinning as they drove to their appointment, looking over at Steve.

“I’m really excited to see this house. It looks great from what we saw online.”

@NomadicShield Bucky smirked when he noticed that Steve had left more than enough money on the table. Same old Steve. Some things never change. He got up from his seat as well, carefully reaching for Steve’s hand. He was happy that they could do this freely now. It meant so much to him.

@NomadicShield Bucky absolutely devoured his food, setting his plate aside with a chuckle when he was finished.

“God, that was good.”

He said, nodding in response to Steve’s words.

“I’m ready to head out whenever you are.”

He chuckled before taking another bite.

@NomadicShield Bucky picked up his burger and took a bite, and immediately, his eyes widened. Once he chewed and swallowed the bite, his lips curved into a wide grin.

“Okay, that’s even better than it used to be.”

@NomadicShield Bucky nodded, taking in a deep, shaky breath, wiping away a tear that slid down his cheek with his free hand.

“Sorry, I don’t know why I’m crying.”

@NomadicShield Bucky was absolutely beaming over at Steve. He was so happy to hear that things were different now. They would be safe. They could be together without having to worry. They were free.

“God, that’s amazing.”

He said, unable to keep back the tears that welled up in his eyes.

“That.. that’s legal now? It’s.. it’s okay?”

He was so used to the way things had been in the 40s, he almost couldn’t believe what he was hearing.

@NomadicShield Bucky was looking around a bit nervously for a moment as Steve continued to hold his hand, but he relaxed when he realized that no one seemed to care.

He said softly. He hoped he wouldn’t ruin the mood by saying that. He just wanted Steve to know he cared.
