On behalf of their client, Zara Sultana, Bindmans Media and Information Law Practise Group requires that I publish the following statement on X, and that such statement must be clearly visible and pinned to my
profile for a continuous period of no less than 24 hours:
“On 30 March 2026, I published a post on my X account addressed to Zarah Sultana in which I stated that she encourages and incites violence and is friends with terrorists.
Those statements are false. I was wrong and offer my sincere apologies to Ms Sultana for the harm and distress caused to her.”
It is my very great pleasure to do this, and I reiterate my sincere and repeated offer to meet with Miss Zara Sultana in person to resolve our differences.
Please do not embarrass Farage by reposting his 'Happy Birthday Mr President' tweet. Be careful not to draw attention to the fact that he's holding a bottle of Trump wine, it would make him look like a fawning sycophant, and we wouldn't want to do that ... would we?
This dog's name was Gunner. My uncle brought him back from WW2. He was raised and slept under my uncle's anti- aircraft gun. The gun crew shared their
rations to feed him. By the time he was 18 months old, my uncle said he would stand up and look at the sky. If he laid back down they knew all was ok. If he growled
and put his hackles up they got at the ready. He knew the sound of the German aircraft and my uncle said he
never got it wrong. He said Gunner was better than any early warning system. I'm probably the only one left in the family that knows that story now, so I thought I'd tell it before it's lost forever, like many stories must be from that time. Thanks for reading it.
There are 195 countries in the world and 193 have not joined the US and Israel in their war.
But the Tories and Tory media would like you to think the UK is an outlier.
@KemiBadenoch@Conservatives None of these allies mentioned are attacking Iran, defensive action is fine. The Loyal opposition should start acting like it.
I was in the Air Force and station there during the first gulf war.
There was no such thing as Chagossians. The people who were on the island when construction began, and who were all removed from the island. They were employees of a plantation on the opposite side of the island. Just palm oil, that was the only reason for the plantation.
There were a few generations of people who lived and worked there (father, son, grandson). These people were brought to the island for the plantation work, not as slaves - yes a low wage existence.
The people we’re talking about are the descendants of those workers at the plantation. They never owned any of it. The plantation would not have survived in today’s time. low cooking oil demand.
If these people are allowed to go back on the island. The only job that they could even hope for, would be as a contractor for the United States government. That’s it. The United States or the UK would have to build them an entire town and infrastructure in the middle of the Indian Ocean, just so they could say they were back home. Nope, this isn’t real, even in the least. This was basically the story I learned of the island when I was deployed there, during the gulf war. Even then the plantation house and buildings were mysterious relics, dilapidated, we even did volunteer trips to go to the other side of the island too cut back overgrown vegetation and even clean some areas. No one lived there, just a little ghost plantation in the middle of the Indian Ocean. These people want it back, it was never theirs in the first place, and we would literally have to pay for every single thing these humans consumed. Collectively, we would have to give millions or even billions of dollars to build an infrastructure to support a small town. These people feel like they were cheated. Sorry, the company and the purpose for you even working on the island disappeared in an instant. I understand you want it back, but I think for those that understand the context of what happened, don’t see this as a people who are suffering, rather than a people who are incapable of moving forward as independent individuals who all share a common experience of having ancestors who lived there for a few generations. Never once holding title to anything on that island.
Bruce Springsteen on Trump: “I couldn't care less what he thinks about me. He's the living personification of what the 25th Amendment and impeachment were for. If Congress had any guts, he'd be consigned to the trash heap of history."
