Islamic foot-washing stations are coming to Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.

The new Wudu stations will be installed in men's and women's restrooms in Terminal D, giving Muslim travelers a dedicated place to perform ritual washing before prayer.

Officials point to another reason for the change: travelers washing their feet in standard sinks can leave floors wet and slippery and damage restroom counters.

The stations are privately funded and are expected to be complete by the end of the year.

Similar facilities already exist at other major U.S. airports, including Chicago O'Hare.

Translating tawakkul simply as "reliance" or "trust in Allah" is not wrong, but it is incomplete.

A more accurate definition is:

ʿĀʾishah (رضي الله عنها) said: I heard the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ say:

Indeed the believer attains through his good character, the rank of one who fasts regularly and stands in prayer at night.(Sunan Abī Dawūd, 4798. Sahīh by Albānī)

al-‘Adhīm Abādī comments in ‘Awn al-Ma’būd:

The person of good character was granted this tremendous virtue because the one who fasts and the one who prays at night strive against their own souls by resisting their personal desires. As for the one who maintains good character with people despite the differences in their personalities and manners, it is as though he is striving against many souls. Therefore, he attains the same rank as the one who fasts and stands in night prayer, they become equal in rank, perhaps the one of excellent character may even surpass him!

Beware of the “The Clear Quran” as it distorts some of Allah’s Attributes.

One example is Face, here they use “Himself” & “Pleasure.”

It mentions the literal meaning in the footnote, indicating that this is not intended.

The Noble Quran is the most accurate translation.
